Guess the flights from Southern California to Texas were cheaper than the ones from Oregon!  Anyone think Redlands has any chance against UMHB?
I think that the game will be competitive!

if Redlands of this year is anything like the Redlands of the last two years that played ETBU then they will be able to compete with UMHB.  Will they be able to beat UMHB? I dont know, but Im pretty sure this wont be like UMHBs previous first round opponents who were cakewalks for the CRU

CRUWORLD

Once again the Cru have the toughest bracket with 4 top 10 teams and 7 top 20. It looks like the softest bracket is St. Thomas' only 1 top 10 and only 4 top 20 teams.
UMHB Alumni, life long Cru finatic.

Interesting brackets to say the least.

Please listen to the Monday morning podcast.  Pat and Keith do a great job of breaking down the brackets.

As I have posted several times, these brackets with 9 "cross-regional" games of the 16 games in the first round is really a national tournament!

From looking at Redlands' stats, looks like they have a dual threat QB who gives a little threat like Harris from LC. This is NOT the same Mary Hardin Baylor team that McMurry saw at the beginning of the season. We have gotten better. Should be interesting!!
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Funny that even when the NCAA opens the wallet a little bit and makes it more of a true national tournament they include a Texas sub-bracket.

I cannot think of a first round opponent that I want to play more than Trinity!  :)

After Sul Ross, HPU and Auistin College, McMurry has the 4th longest history of games against Trinity going 13-23-1 in the series that began in 1936, when Trinity was located in Waxahachie, TX.  We have lost 5 straight to Trinity: 1997, 1998, 1999, 2008 and 2009. Our last wins were in 1981, when we beat Trinity 23-19 and 19-18, as founding co-member Trinity was leaving the TIAA.

Looking at Redlands, other than Cal Lutheran, they really haven't played anyone. The rest of their conference was pretty weak, and in looking at common opponents and opponents' opponents, I think UMHB stacks up well. I think that we need to contain their QB, but the supporting staff doesn't seem eye-popping. I think it will be a better matchup than in previous years for UMHB, but IMHO I think that UMHB comes out on top by 2 TD.

Did you see their opening game?

I saw Redlands play at ETBU last season. They are a solid team and they traveled well to the game in Marshall.

That should be a good test for the CRU.

RFB

Redlands hasn't played anyone? I'm sure #6 North Central & #8 Cal Lutheran would beg to differ with that comment.

McM Blue Devil

Gee....I wonder what I am going to be doing on Saturday at noon?  An McM alum and proud of it, but also a TU employeee (and proud of it).

Really looking forward to the game.  High flying offense against a really good defense.  I may be way wrong on this but I expect Trinity to play McM like HSU did.  Try to play good defense and then control the clock with an effective ground game. Granchelli is a good back and Mykissic (despite the AC game) usually makes good decisions. Seeing TU play a couple of times this year, they may not overwhelm you, but they are incredibly effective.  Then you have MCM, who can score from anywhere on the field, not just with their offense but by also making special team plays as well. I believe what has made a difference towards the end of the season is the emergence of an effective running game.

P.S.  If you wondering who I am cheering for, I will be wearing maroon on Saturday.

Ralph Turner

McM Blue Devil, the very first game that the current seniors played as freshmen was the 48-18 loss at Trinity.

We saw that game... Remember!?!
