Gee....I wonder what I am going to be doing on Saturday at noon?  An McM alum and proud of it, but also a TU employeee (and proud of it).

Really looking forward to the game.  High flying offense against a really good defense.  I may be way wrong on this but I expect Trinity to play McM like HSU did.  Try to play good defense and then control the clock with an effective ground game. Granchelli is a good back and Mykissic (despite the AC game) usually makes good decisions. Seeing TU play a couple of times this year, they may not overwhelm you, but they are incredibly effective.  Then you have MCM, who can score from anywhere on the field, not just with their offense but by also making special team plays as well. I believe what has made a difference towards the end of the season is the emergence of an effective running game.

P.S.  If you wondering who I am cheering for, I will be wearing maroon on Saturday.

should be fun to see McM actually play in the Texas Sub bracket. Trinity Vs McM should be a good game. Good luck to both ASC teams in the first round.

Looking at Redlands, other than Cal Lutheran, they really haven't played anyone.

Did you see their opening game?

Ok, I do stand corrected about North Central who was pre-season number 4. I missed that. Looking at their opponents' record, 40-44 over all, their last three games of offense, and their opponents' offense, I see that they may be getting tired.

Their last three games, all against losing teams, they had 236, 344, and 173 yards rushing, and 173, 221, and 162 yds passing. They gave up 37, 124, and 114 yds rushing while giving up 359, 212, and 306 through the air. This against teams with a combined 10-17 record. 2 of the 3 were very close: 38-28 over Laverne and 19-13 over Chapman, two 4-5 teams. They barely beat Claremont MS, a 4-5 team.

UMHB was much more dominant against the lower tier ASC schools and beat the top tier schools running mostly the pistol. After changing their scheme, they began rolling their opponents.

As Steve Farrar says in his book Finishing Strong, it's not how you start but how you finish. UMHB has simply finished stronger, so I see them with the edge.

I think that is a good analysis. :(

Redlands hasn't played anyone? I'm sure #6 North Central & #8 Cal Lutheran would beg to differ with that comment.

Yes they played two strong teams and we played #21 HSU, now #20 McMurry, and #19 LC. I just meant from a season long look, it seems as though we played some tougher teams than they did which should help us. I don't doubt it will be a good game, just confident.

Gray Fox follows the SCIAC almost as closely as he does the ASC.

I did not interpret that emoticon as sarcasm.

Thanks for asking for the clarification.   :)

I just couldn't tell. No biggie. I'm looking for someone who is on Twitter that follows them. You know of anyone?

Pulled a few more game day stats for the game against Redlands.

Our Rushing Offense (#8) against their Run D (#46)

Their Rushing Offense (#41) against our Run D (#40)

Our Passing Offense (#166) against their Pass D (#235)

Their Passing Offense (#87) against our Pass D (#130)

We faced 5 of the top 100 passing teams including the #1 (McMurry) and 4 top 100 Rushing Offenses.

We gave up 288 to McMurry, but that game was so crazy with the lightning, it's really hard to judge. We played great D in the first half, they played great D in the Second.

The key stat, we have the #7 punt return stats and the #6 KO return stats. Our special teams is electric and can turn a game for us. I look to that as being our catalyst. If we are getting good special teams yardage, then things will go well for us.

D O.C., would you mind explaining your prediction and why this wouldn't be a close match up?

That is the "sad" symbol that somehow is always broken on my machine.  It is the first time I tried it.
I went to a SCIAC school, so I follow the SCIAC closely.  I plan to be at the game.  I'm hoping to see some Redlands posters.  Otherwise I will sit on the home side.

McM Blue Devil, the very first game that the current seniors played as freshmen was the 48-18 loss at Trinity.

We saw that game... Remember!?!

Yes I do remember!  Since that day what a turn around for McM football.  Simeon Neal had a TD in that game.  At least this time around the weather should be a lot cooler then it was that day!

TxFight

I like UMHB by two tds over Redlands

I tend to be leaning towards McMurry heavily over Trinity...but my question is will be Mullins be able to go?
