Following a fumble Willamet scores again 13-28 26 seconds to go
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Just thought I'd leave a note that I miss all the action here, now that McMurry has gone D-II.  It's the start of a new football season, and where do McMurry fans go to hear the latest rumors and trash talk about the people we're playing now that we're no longer members of the ASC??   :-\

D2football.com has some message boards but the formatting by the website's creator is completely different in concept and orientation.  Yes it is by conference and by region, but the layout takes some time getting used to it.

ETBU came out in typical ETBU style and went Dr. Jeckyll/Mr. Hyde against Wesley.  Jumped out 12-0 on the wolverines and then let special teams and some costly turnovers (like a fumble inside the 10 going in, interceptions at midfield) beat em.  If ETBU gets out of their own way they are going to be a tough team to play.

Tough start for McMurry today. Good luck the rest of the way.

I watched the HSU game on the internet and their defense was not very good.

On a somber note from the McMurry press release,

QuoteFormer McM Football Player Loses Life in Afghanistan

The McMurry University Family is saddened to learn of the death of U.S. Army
SSgt. Jeremie Border – a former McM football player - who was killed in action
in Afghanistan on September 1, 2012, while serving his country in Operation
Enduring Freedom.

A native of Mesquite, Texas, Jeremie was a 2006 graduate of McMurry.  He was a
double-major, with B.A degrees in both sociology and communications

Jeremie will be remembered at the Fall 2012 Convocation at 11 a.m. Tuesday,
September 4, in Radford Auditorium. Flags on campus are being flown at half-mast
in his memory.

Additionally, War Hawks football head coach Hal Mumme has announced that the
team will wear a helmet decal - bearing Jeremie's uniform number 28 - for the
rest of the 2012 season.

Jeremie was a four-year player for the McMurry football team from 2002-05,
primarily as a defensive back. He played under Steve Keenum his first three
seasons and under the late Joe Crousen as a senior.

While at McMurry, he was active on campus as a member of not just the football
program, but also the Servant Leadership Program, Fellowship of Christian
Athletes and Makona Men's Social Club.  He was a Resident Assistant and was
named to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.

"We remember Jeremie as an engaged student in everything he did and his
infectious smile for everyone he greeted," said McMurry President Dr. John H.
Russell. "The McMurry family extends its heartfelt prayers and condolences to
Jeremie's family as we remember his friendship and honor him for the ultimate
sacrifice he made in service to our country."

Funeral arrangements are pending.

It has the location for the tailgate area and a good amount of info on places to get food, coffee, wine in the McMinnville area.  Safe travels.

The difference between a Linfield Baptist and an HSU Baptist is that the Linfield Baptist will say hello to you in a liquor store. ;)

So true...by the way.  I forgot about this.  McMinnville is hosting their 5th annual Brew and BBQ festival in downtown Mac.  This has turned out to be a well run and big event in the area.

To any Texans flying to Oregon for the HSU game, I lived in Oregon for 7 years. You must keep in mind that in Texas BBQ is a noun; in Oregon it is a verb. : )

Just a quick check-in to let you know that I really like the new scoreboard page.  Makes keeping up with the game from afar much, much easier.

Hope that all my other d3 buddies are doing well--hope everyone is happy at the end of the football season!

Good one, Ralph.
I remind my Texas cohorts that liquor is controlled in Oregon by the state and you must get it in a "package" store open certain hours.
But wine and beer? No.
So....I ask again, anybody who reads this site going?

The Colts have an article on Jerrell Freeman, the opening day starter @ Inside LB, up on their site.
