No worries. I started in sp of 89 finished in may of 04
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Well, I've been silent for quite some time, so here goes.  I hope the team changes to the ASC conference do not force UMHB into considering DII; DIII really fits the UMHB student life and athletic philosophy very well.  As some of you know the administrative team at UMHB has been in the process of updating the facilities for several years, and as well adding housing and other facilities to accomodate a growing on campus population and a  growing total enrollment, both undergraduate and graduate.  The desire for an on campus stadium has always been a goal and Dr. O'Rear (and I) appreciate the generosity of the McLane family in making it possible.  Student life at UMHB has been greatly envigerated and improved over the last ten years, under both presidents (Dr. O'Rear was a part of this even as the Exective VP.)  Campus life will be even more exciting with all athletic facilities within walking distance of the the dorms and apartments!

Well said, Dr, Bawcom, well said! While I can only speak for myself, I am certain I echo the sentiments of many alumni, when I say we appreciate and applaude your leadership at UMHB. We also have the utmost confidence in Dr. O'Rear. I have watched with pride UMHB's growth in every facet of student life. I am also pleased to be participating in the new Momentum Campaign.

They are played for a reason, so anything can happen, but seeing how solid this team has been, realizing all that may be possible, I think they come out and do their thing.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

TLU got clobbered by Trinity @TLU

Would not want to be TLU playing @UMHB ...

LC scratched out a tough 29 - 17 win over ETBU. It wasn't real pretty, but a win is a win.

I just got home from Sherman, saw the UMHB score and went directly to the stats.  Glad to see it was 42-7 in the 4th before TLU started scoring their last 4 TDs.   It looks like a close first half and then UMHB ran away with it and played their subs in the 4th.  That being said, I have a lot of respect for the TLU program since Coach Padron took over.  He was a great HS coach and now has TLU playing hard till the end.    He and his staff are slowly forging a competitive team and I know they will be tough in the SCAC (if it forms again!)

This was a great game from start to finish.

UMHB came out strong and played well in the first. LB was throwing the ball well, only had a couple of passes not find their target, but the receivers were having a hard time handling the ball in the 2nd. I joked with my brother that they may bring out the ice bath this week in practice and make the receivers stick their hands in there a bit and then practice catching balls. They must have done this before the third because they came out hot in the second half. The subs were cold coming into the game, so TLU was able to get a lot of points in the fourth, but the second string was able to get it under control and finish out the night strong.

Big game next week!

Just took a quick look at the drive charts for each game.  Obviously the starters played the whole game against Wesley but the others are quite different.

In UMHB's first game against Kean (who had already played one game)  the subs played the whole 4th quarter in a 34-7 win and Kean's only score was on a kick off return.
Against Trinity the subs played all of the 3rd and 4th quarters in a 49-28 win and Trinity scored 3 of their 4 touchdowns against the subs.
Against Sul Ross, the subs entered after one series in the 3rd quarter and Sully scored one TD in the 4th Q.
Against TLU, the subs entered in the 4th quarter and scored 3 of their 4 touchdown in the 4th.

What great game experience for these guys and we all know that will help in the rest of this season and the next!  I think it is great the coaches are doing this!

Also of note is while while Darius Wilson has not played the last three games, the Cru is averaging 360 yds/game rushing.  I hope he is back soon and the injury is not serious!
