Absolutely ludicrous. Looks like '04 all over again. We will have to upset the top dogs most likely in Alliance(someone correct me if i'm wrong), and then a good chance of Linfield in the Stagg Bowl. Pretty poor job by the committee if you ask me. But we were most likely going to have to play those two teams anyway at some point, i just didn't expect the games in that order. HERE WE GO.

I agree.

I can somewhat understand pairing UMHB with LC in the 1st round due to geography, but setting up the bracket in such a way that there is no chance for a # 1 vs # 2 match up in the Stagg Bowl is indefensible. It's almost willfully stupid. The Crusaders are intentionally getting sold short again by the pro-Northern bias of the selection committee.

Actually I think that UMHB will host UMU if they both make it to the semis.

Regardless of who wins the first round game, the second round game is winnable for either team.

As for the ASC/Texas bracket, IMHO, this is a South #1 vs South #3.

For you newbies, the criteria by which the committee determines the top seeding is different from the Top 25 voting.  I have no doubt that the Stagg Bowl will have two outstanding competitors.

That's great to hear Ralph! Could you explain why thats the case? Mount Union traveling here?

Did it make anyone else that much more upset when they showed pictures of the UMHB-LC game from earlier in the year? I mean come on, don't rub it in our face.

LaCollegeFan

UMHB would have to host Mount Union if they both make it that far because of a simple answer. SOS.

LaCollegeFan

when will we know what time the games start?

when will we know what time the games start?

All playoff games are noon local time, except for the Stagg Bowl which is on Friday night.

Actually, the semifinal game times are no longer guaranteed to be noon, thanks to ESPN coming into the equation last year.

I believe that UMHB's being in the upper right bracket gives them the #2 seed, and Linfield the #1.

My bad!

QuoteThe NCAA did not announce the ranking of the overall top seeds. However, if tradition holds, one semifinal host is the first team listed in the bracket (Linfield) and the other semifinal host is the last team listed (Mount Union).

I don't think so. I believe the first and last teams listed in the bracket are the top seeds for their side.

while MHB's opening round game is against a quality opponent, the 2nd round is a cupcake.  Just look at it as you're playing the first 2 rounds in reversed order.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Pat, your reasoning for this please. Home teams appear to be on top through the bracket.
