I don't think so. I believe the first and last teams listed in the bracket are the top seeds for their side.

Pat, your reasoning for this please. Home teams appear to be on top through the bracket.

Past playoff brackets. Obviously the last host team, not Christopher Newport.

When will we know for sure?
Anything that you ardently desire, vividly imagine, totally believe and enthusiastically pursue will inevitably come to pass !!!

The NCAA liaison would not answer my question explicitly, but essentially verified my reading of the bracket. Quote added to the bottom:

Still amazed Linfield is the overall 1 seed.     I was expecting this:
1. MHB
2.  Mount Union
3.  Linfield
4.   St Thomas

Though as it turns out, I think Linfield got the toughest region, though they're the 1.   Quite an interesting bracket.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

wesleydad

dont forget about the team that umhb has the most trouble beating, wesley.  umhb got hossed, they have a much tougher trip to the 1/4's than wesley does.  3 of the top 4 teams in the country are in this half in my opinion.  wish they would make mount travel.

Absolutely ludicrous. Looks like '04 all over again. We will have to upset the top dogs most likely in Alliance(someone correct me if i'm wrong), and then a good chance of Linfield in the Stagg Bowl. Pretty poor job by the committee if you ask me. But we were most likely going to have to play those two teams anyway at some point, i just didn't expect the games in that order. HERE WE GO.
I agree.

I can somewhat understand pairing UMHB with LC in the 1st round due to geography, but setting up the bracket in such a way that there is no chance for a # 1 vs # 2 match up in the Stagg Bowl is indefensible. It's almost willfully stupid. The Crusaders are intentionally getting sold short again by the pro-Northern bias of the selection committee.

Agreed. No respect. Play with a chip boys.....play with a chip!

Did it make anyone else that much more upset when they showed pictures of the UMHB-LC game from earlier in the year? I mean come on, don't rub it in our face.

What do you mean?

Insanity. So basically nothing during reg season matters. UMHB = NCAA WHIPPING BOY.

Its not like going through Linfield in the semis would be much/any easier, now the Cru just needs to strap up and get it done so that the opening ceremony for Crusader Stadium includes a banner raising next year.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

UMHB...great team in the middle of nowhere.
Just win , Baby.

Well obviously I know the NCAA isn't sitting there laughing at our expense but it like they were showing us, yes we know you already played each other this season and we care so little about fairness, that we are going to show you pictures of it while we make you play a conference rematch.....again in the playoffs.

Oh. I didn't see the video. It wouldn't load on my phone. To say we are used to this is an understatement. We've played our own so many times that it's ridiculous.
