Many thanks to the nice folks in Belton who made our visit enjoyable (that would be most anyone NOT on the field - ha ha).  You always make us feel welcome and your hospitality is much appreciated - as is your tasty BBQ :)
Make sure to come out next September when we open the new stadium with Wesley. Should be awesome. (It would be even more awesome if the Cru was hanging a banner that day!)

I heard a few people discussing where next weeks game will be played. I thought it was a given we would be on the road against MU but some people were saying that may not be the case.

Thoughts?

Rumor on the OAC board last week was that someone came into the Mount locker room at half-time (yes, half-time) of the Johns Hopkins game to announce the semi-final game (when the quarterfinal teams hadn't yet even been determined) would be played in TX.

We'll all know sometime today and while the NCAA may well surprise us all, we spent a lot (probably too much) time trying to explain why the story wouldn't have happened that way.  If it were true, it probably should have ticked off Wesley more than Mount since Wesley was assumed to lose.

do not think the rumor to be true, but if it was than i agree that wesley should have been ticked off about it.  the only thing that may be true is that we are misreading the brackets with the assumption that linfield was 1, mount 2, umhb 3.  could it be that umhb was 2 and mount 3.  with the resumes as far as 1 seeds go it would not be hard to see umhb being given the 2 over mount.  we shall see later today.

If you didn't see the craziness that was the Bailey to Moore touchdown with Bailey going down here's a link to the youtube video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHCGYaZ5Hto&feature=youtu.be
If you watch carefully you can see the frustration by the defender who had Bailey sacked.

For some reason, my brain recalled a factoid from the 1960's that any forward pass had to involve a motion of the arm had to be delivered with a motion above the horizontal, i.e., it coulcl not be underhanded.

I understood the call on the "kicked" fumble, but I am still puzzled by this "underhand TD pass".

Thanks, roocru, for the Karma.

I guess UMHB fans are glad that the "football gods" deemed to give us this 2-point conversion instead of the failed 2-point conversion last year, the last time we played a football game in a city on US Hwy 190!  :-)

the results ended up well, but this could have been as bad a decision as the backward pass he threw earlier in the game.  i dont think he had any idea the receiver was there and was just trying to throw it away to avoid a sack.  could have just as easily been picked and returned for a td.  that is how the game goes, but luck plays a role every once in a while.

in the game article in today's paper he says he knew moore was there and was just trying to flick it over the defenders head. but yes it could have gone badly

Yesterday at Mount Union, it was announced that next Saturday's game would kick off at 1:00PM Eastern.  A venue was not mentioned.  Could mean the usual noon start was changed for TV, or that the game will be in Texas.  We'll know this afternoon.

We don't mind coming!  We'll have our same game face on, too!  In 2004 UMHB had graduations, so I could not go to Alliance.  My wife and daughter did and had a great time in the wet snow.  They especially enjoyed the look on the Raiders' Mascot's face when Sharp made "The Catch!"  It is framed and in my den!  I remember coming back to the president's home to have a yard full of students gathered there to celebrate; all the bells on campus were ringing.  So, even though I was not at the game (My purple shoes were there, thanks to Karen Goff!) I was able to have a wonderful celebration with students after the game.  Hope the Cru has similar memories after next Saturdays game!!!

I am seeing some info that the game will be aired on ESPN3, I am not sure if that channel is available on cable or not.
