Very disappointing. I thought this was our year. They had a comfortable lead and let it get away.

Good season, but with 2013 looking to be a rebuilding year, it's disappointing to think that we let another opportunity at the Stagg Bowl slip through our fingers.

I feel your pain!  Sorry it ended that way for you guys, but what a game.  Alliance seems to be the place that dreams from the South region go to die.  Congrats on a great year and best wishes to all your seniors.

wesleydad

tough one for the cru.  had chances with the 5 to's but just couldn't close it out.  nice season, see you all next year.  hard way to go out for the seniors, so close.  plenty to be proud of once the disappointment goes away.

Can't believe the CRU blew it.  Just shows why you have to always play 60 minutes just like the Raiders always do.  Without the to's the game would not of been close.  Mount Union played great in the 4th quarter.  Congrats on a great season!

That should've been the Stagg Bowl!!

Proudly Frustrated.

Thanks for the entertainment.
Congratulations on another exceptional season.

TO's are part of the game. And considering that UMHB had a 28-14 lead at one point, it's clear that neither team played 60 minutes.

UMHB was the better team for most of the game, but Mount Union made more big plays when it counted. Congrats on the win, but you should really be breathing a sigh of relief, not coming over here and talking trash.

The stats tell a different story - Mount kept UMHB in the game and tried to hand it to them with the TO's. I don't think anyone is trashtalking - it was a great game by 2 great teams. TO's are a part of the game, but saying that without the TO's the game would not have been close is hardly talking trash - it's simply the truth.

Ignoring DesertRaider ... the reason I set the spread at 10.5 was to entice some of the Mount faithful to take UMHB and the points.  I actually wanted to play 3.5 ... I have watched more of your video this year than Mount's.  [NOTE: your announcers are serious homers!]

MUC's fans consider turnovers aberrations; they don't understand that TOs are part of the Cru's game plan.

You had a great game plan and played a great game.  And you will be back.

And if MUC wins the Stagg on Friday, they should be thanking you for waking them up!

To all the UMHB fans - I am not trying to dis the Cru by my above statement. I apologize if it sounds bad - but look at the box score. That is all I am saying. Mount owned every category - yards, passing, rushing, 1st downs, 3rd and 4th down conversions....and TO's. That was what kept UMHB in it. Yes UMHB forced the TO's but without them - it was not much of a game. It was not meant to offend. I wish you all nothing but the best - and congrats on a great game.

yes, Mom. what you said. Great, tough, brilliant game, umhb !!

Just like many other teams who are not in the playoffs, if it wasn't for the turnovers we would of, could of, if this, if that...If a If was a fifth, we all be drunk!

The MU fans are so funny...I'm not sure they've ever see their team play like this at home. Haha. I'm not impressed with their fans...a little nasty for being such a historically dominant team. I don't think having 1/2 of the home fans sit on the visitors is a good idea. I could see the stands getting pretty nasty at times.

I apologize for some Alliance fans who are not hospitable, and can be, in fact, perennially,  obnoxious. Please know the majority of folks  respect your great team and you, their fans, who came all this way to Ohio and cheered your hearts out, a proud representation. Legitimately proud.

Our best to your seniors. Safe travels home. And hope to see you again soon. I'm sure we will.  Maybe in Texas next time! I could use an excuse to head south in December.

Exactly!  I would love an excuse to visit your great state!  Good Luck in 2013!

The Cru should be extremely proud of the effort today and all season long. Your defensive and offensive lines were outstanding as I have never seen that much pressure put on Burke. We were fortunate to prevail. Congrats on an outstanding season. I had the opportunity to go on the field after the game and found many of the Cru players and fans to be a class act and a credit to division 3 football. We have to do this more often as our 2 match-ups have been some of the most competitive and exciting games I have ever had the pleasure of watching.

BTW, what happened on the punt block? I could not see the whole thing from my seat but it looked like he had time to get the kick away but decided to run and go "Rugby" style and then had it blocked. It ended up being a huge play in the game.

Smashmouth

Great game. As far as the blocked punt goes. We have to ask Chad Peevy. He doubled pumped and tried the Aussie style kick. Worked during the past few seasons, but not today. I still think the 4th and 1 was a bigger play in the 3rd qtr with a 14 point lead. Regardless, the Cru played well for the most part considering they were away. Could a, would a, should a, the football bounces funny at times. The Cru's biggest challenge next is to reload. Big graduations coming. Watch for Div 1 transfers and JC recruits.
