Thanks, Toby. I only listened to the game, but it sounded as if the young Mr. Anderson was composed and directed the offense well. I look forward to seeing him in action Saturday, as well as "The Beast," Mr. Elijah Hudson.

Should be a good one at The CRUthedral.

I did a little research on Zach Anderson from Odem, Texas and found the following highlights from his senior season in high school: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGHKyLvBn0E It's worth the 5 minutes it takes to watch, especially for UMHB fans. Anderson is listed at 6'3" and 185 pounds and runs a 4.5 in the 40. I am excited about what he brings to the table both now and in the future.

This young man can play!

How about them Crusadera...

Pound for pound, UMHB is hands down the top football program in the state. The Aggies are the flavor of the month, but the Crusaders have been doing it for a decade.

Couldn't agree more, Zach came in and you could not tell at all that this was his first action. Coach Pete had a funny quote in the paper today on that same note that said :Zach is so laid-back it's sickening," Fredenburg said Monday. "He's really laid-back."

Check out the new UMHB video on the Cru website listed below.  Click on the link that says "Top Videos" under the rotating pictures. Then click on the second video from the top on the left hand menu.  It is a time lapse of the stadium construction with some highlights thrown in.  It is titled "We've been counting down the days..."  Way cool!

I just read the following in an article on the UMHB web site promoting Saturday's game in the new Crusader Stadium, aka. The CRUthedral. It says: "The state-of-the-art facility was designed by nationally-renowned architectural firm Populous and has a seating capacity of 8,766 with overflow capability of holding 10,266 spectators."

This was also in the article: "Pre-game will feature a special stadium dedication ceremony and ribbon-cutting. There are also several other special events planned, including a post-game fireworks display."

My inside sources tell me it is going to be packed on Saturday evening. If any one is planning on going to the game and does not yet have tickets, let me know. I have 20 (They are in the upper "deck" between the 40 and 50 yard lines), but it looks like I am going to have 2 or 3 no-shows.

Good stuff, roocru, thanks for posting.

I REALLY hope that UMHB has a really good video feed with lots of bandwidth.    I am planning on disappointment at this point with the tons of people that are going to be watching the game.  I am seeing  frozen images of football players in my dreams..... :-[

The feed from UMHB home games is usually pretty good. I'd expect it to be better now that it's on campus than it was from Belton High's stadium. Guess the real question is how many will be on and what kind of bandwidth are they dedicating. This game is kind of a big deal so I bet whatever the number the band width is available.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

What is wrong with HSU? Two weeks in a row they've been absolutely demolished on defense. Have they taken the only athletes they recruited and put them offense and stuck what was left on the other side of the ball? Sewanee gave Willamette a heck of a game today, something HSU couldn't do for even 15 minutes last week.

Really shocking and I'm really starting to wonder if that is a program in for a tough year. It seems to me the ASC, outside UMHB, might be in a really down year. I'm planning to be at Huntingdon next week to put eyes on LC and I'm very interested in how they look against a DIII.
Wondering that myself......After getting beat up the first couple weeks HSU should do some beating up this week and hopefully get some confidence back although I think they may struggle to finish above 500

The link is a picture a friend of mine took of  a pep rally held Thursday night for The CRU. It was pouring rain, but looks like a good crowd gathered in the south side of The CRUthedral.

Looks like a cool front is pushing through Central Texas right now. Temperatures are only expected to be in the mid-80's on Saturday.

That's because it's your friend. We can't see your friend's photos, though. :)

I'll be rolling into Belton a little after noon tomorrow. What should I try to do before the pregame ceremonies start?

(On the list is talking to MBB coach Ken DeWeese.)
