So UMHB and LC match up this weekend and at this time 48 people have selected the Cru to get upset.

Montague gained over 100 yards last season in the playoffs against UMHB and with Silvio Diaz out, apparently, with a foot injury, he looks to possibly build on that performance. Here's my take...With UMHB's depth, the dropoff from Diaz isn't that great, and the way our LB's and Safties have played, they come up and drop the hammer quickly.

I expect UMHB to load up for the run and force LC to beat us on the throw. UMHB's 3rd down D has been great this year, and our corners h ave been shut down. If they can continue this, I expect UMHB to pull away in the second and third quarters. Plus, the special teams is beginning to find their footing, so watch out there.

Unless LC is dramatically better than when I saw them play Huntindgon a few weeks ago, I expect your 20pt expected margin is about correct.

Looks like we will also have a freshman QB coming into Belton as well. This could be interesting as I'm sure he hasn't seen a defense with our speed. Our DE's are quick and mobile. They'll be ready.

Zach Anderson is growing and will not be overcome by Louisiana's D. I think he will be just fine this week.

I've seen both UMHB and LC play this year. If UMHB comes out the way it did against Wesley, I don't think the game is close. If, however, UMHB is a bit sluggish and the Cats can get the offense on track, it could be interesting. The way The CRU is playing defense this year, that will not be easy.

Whatever the outcome, I am looking forward to being present and accounted for at The Cruthedral this Saturday.

Any word on the status of Hudson and Diaz for the game? 2001, is Diaz for certain not going to play?

Hudson is a go at full strength. Diaz, from what I've read, is a no go. The article yesterday said they are unsure of when he'll return. They said they are lucky to have not lost him for the year.

Thanks, 2001. I think you are correct, the UMHB depth is impressive and was on display against Trinity.

No problem, Kelly, and by the way, perhaps we can try to meet up again on Saturday. I'm in section 204, row J, seat 10. I'd love to touch base with you.

Hey, 2001, I will message you my cell number.

My two-cents worth (which isn't worth much these days):

I expect LC to throw everything imaginable offensively at The CRU, including the kitchen sink. Dennis Dunn is a offensive genius and I am certain he will have some tricks up his sleeves and even down his pants legs for UMHB, and LC does have some weapons.

The CRU defense has been just too good this season (even without Silvio Diaz in the line-up), I think LC is going to have to try and catch them off guard.

I do think a huge  key will be how young Mr. Meloncon (true freshman) handles The CRU defense. He is talented and has a strong arm, but there is no doubt he has never faced a defense as talented and as fast as UMHB. I contend that as a unit, this is the best defense The CRU has put on the field. I am especially impressed with the corners.

On defense, I expect LC to blitz, blitz and blitz some more. The Cats have had success with their blitz packages this season and, it seemed, The CRU had some problems with the blitz against Sul Ross. LC has to do something to try and slow down UMHB and perhaps create some turnovers. From my perspective, the LC defense has been the key to the Cats 4-1 record.

If UMHB plays UMHB football - tough, disciplined and focused, The CRU will take care of business. However, if UMHB starts sloppy and is undisciplined, this game could be interesting.

Looking forward to Saturday.

Excellent rundown of the Wildcats, and from everything I've looked at, I see they are a formidable opponent. As recent history has shown The Cru, LC can't be taken lightly.

From their game against Huntingdon, I can see that LC gave up a bunch of passing yards, but I also see that Montegue was able to really scoot and picked up nice yards against the Huntingdon D. UMHB has quick, Wes Welker type receivers, but unlike Peyton, Anderson is a bit more mobile and makes plays. Anderson showed resolve two weeks ago against Trinity and made good decisions. This could be his breakout game. It looks as though Huntingdon was not able to get their run game going, but with Hudson returning on full strength and Carpenter newly established as the next torchbearer in the wings, I think UMHB will be pleanty ready to run.

Our defensive line may be lacking without Diaz, but the LB's and corners come in to make the stop. I don't see this Frosh QB getting the best of us.

Unfortunately I have to miss homecoming this year. Some friends decided a wedding at game time on a Saturday in October was a good idea.  :o  :P so I'll be in Austin burning up my cell data (when it's appropriate). good luck to the Cru. Let's go Wildcat hunting!

the weddings not til 2. I'll definitely be streaming before. Maybe the Cru will be far enough out front at half that all I'll need is twitter updates.

Very close game today. UMHB did not play well defensively, esp on 3rd down. Gave up too much and had penalties to extend drives. The Oline's also looked to get off the ball slowly.

Montague is a BEAST! 239 total yards of offense. Crazy!

Anderson looked confused at times and that stings.

Lots to build off of and with Wesley getting beat, we will need to shore some things up.
