It is actually the 12th straight for UMHB against hsu. Most forget to add the 2 playoff victories from 06 and 08 in the streak.

I figured it to be a closer game but The Cru was just dominant. Only worries were the early turnovers from the first half. They keep this up it will be another exciting ride in the playoffs.

at the end of the game the UMHB students held up signs with th scores of each of the previous 11 games with their dates along the visitor stand railing
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Even though I saw nearly all of them, the number of wins against HSU slipped up on me.
Thank goodness for great defense and special teams play.
But, overcoming three turnovers seems to be becoming a common thing for UMHB.  We need to hold on to the ball these next three games by improving our offensive control.
Although, one could say with the tremendous ground game we exhibited, the offense is improving well!
Cudos to the coaches!!!

Speaking of the end of the game Toby, does the HSU band normally play the school song that quickly? They seemed to play the song as the players were midway through the post game hand shake and therefore had no way of joining in.

They do. As soon as the game is over the band usually fires up. I'm not going to say they weren't motivated to get out of there quickly after that game, but they do start up right away.

Thanks guys; I did not get to see the game, since I was in Waxahachie for former first lady Marietta Parker's 88th birthday party!

Here's the game highlights/report from Louisiana College's 61-14 win over Sul Ross. Ryan Montague and Kyle Galyon (easily LC's two best offensive players) combined for just 10 touches and the Wildcats had a season-low 327 yards of offense in scoring the 61 points, kind of crazy.

And here's the Hype Video for this week's game against Texas Lutheran. LC and TLU had an absolute classic last season against TLU in Pineville, hoping for another great one this week, both teams are playing some of their best football.

Found some interesting news today that UMHB is part of one of the three finalist bids to host the 2014-2018 Stagg Bowl. However the game would not be at Crusader Stadium, as UMHB has apparently partnered with Shenandoah, Texas and the game would be at Woodforest Bank stadium which is part of Conroe ISD. The winning bid will not be announced until December 11th with Salem and Bradenton, Florida being the other finalist.

The story is at http://woodlandsonline.com/npps/story.cfm?nppage=51323 and http://www.ncaa.com/news/ncaa/article/2013-10-30/host-site-finalists-named-final-round-81-championships-2014-18.

I would love for the game to be down in our neck of the woods but I have to believe that someone is going to have to put in a very nice bid to beat out Salem who seems to do it right and is closer to the majority of D3.

Ron Boerger

Crusader Stadium is nicer than Woodforest Bank Stadium.   Seats more, too.   Probably better parking than UMHB, tho.

I guess the proximity to the two big Houston airports is supposed to be a big plus, but it's not like Salem, hundreds of miles from a major metro airport, is suffering.   You could fly into either AUS or DFW and be closer to Belton than you are flying to DC and driving to Salem.

It seems very doubtful they'd move from Salem but you never know.

Great all around game for the Cru today. From my research, it looks like the largest margin of victory for the Cru in team history.

323 yards rushing/208 yards passing

Biggest problem of the day?? Losing senior QB Jake Sims again to a groin issue. Jake has worked hard and we need him emotionally and as the backup.

HPU had put up quite a few points last week against ETBU, so for them to be shut down today says a lot about our D.

HPU only had the ball in Cru territory a couple of times. Pretty good day on D.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

The radio crew said that it was the largest margin of victory and the 2nd most points scored
