I like the choice of sitting.  Even when I was in high school.

I am just as big a fan as anyone. If you block my view, I no longer have that choice and I will no longer support my team or even the sport.

Being the avid fan I am, I understand your concerns.  I have had concerns about the lack of crowd support except at crucial moments in games in the past.  We were hoping for a big response in the new home stadium.  I will certainly pass your comments on to the big bosses!

Take the guess work out of it and check with Drayton. My guess is he will side with the sitters.   :-\

Perhaps UMHB should have built more sky-boxes.   ;)

I apologized to the entire section my tickets are in the very first game. I am a very vocal, up/ down, fan. When our boys need us to make some noise, it is tough to do that sitting down. But in all seriousness, the upper deck is a prime place to be if sitting is your preferred posture of supporting the CRU, the lower deck tends to get a little rowdy with the GA tickets and the student section there. Honestly, sitting or standing, the boys need us to make noise at opportune times throughout the game. Rowan has already been talkin trash and saying that they are going to "shut down our O" and that they have "played teams like UMHB all year long, and won." That is an actual quote from the newspaper in NJ. Rowan has not faced the caliber of a team that UMHB is all season long. The real issue at hand is the lack of respect the "profs" are giving the CRU. Our boys are going to come our swingin and ready to take no prisoners tomorrow, and they'll need up hoopin and hollerin for em too.

Good word, couchcru11. Myself, I am a "stander" and tend to be vocal. Last week I stood the entire game just behind the top row of the lower section -- technically the mezzanine.

Game day at The CRUthedral!

Up with the Purple!

:D rim shot.

If I had to hashtag this it would be #DIproblems. My cousin's grandfather (not the one we share) had season tickets at Penn State since the early 60s and this is a discussion I hear there.

I met a lot of enthusiastic fans at the opening of the Cruthedral but I did end up talking to an UMHB alum from the 1940s. She had come five hours to see her school and team. She was so proud of what her school has become. You need those people at the games too. The greatest thing about football is that it brings us all together. Good luck with Rowan.

yessir,

With all due respect, you're beating up a straw man. Nobody is saying that fans shouldn't stand and cheer when something important has happened or is about to happen, we're saying that people should have some consideration for those around them and not stand the ENTIRE GAME.

Yes, those who want to stand the entire game paid just as much for their tickets as those who want to use the seats for their intended purpose, but there's a big difference. People who sit all or most of the game aren't interfering with other people watching the game they paid to see, those who want to stand the entire game are.

That said, I do like the idea of having areas where standing the whole game is allowed, and other areas where people can sit without having their view blocked. That way everyone can be free to watch the game in whatever way they enjoy doing it.

03, agree.  it is not the standing and cheering that is the issue.  it is the standing the entire game knowing that you are blocking the view of others and not caring about it that is the selfish and inconsiderate part.  Again, just goes to show the difference in how generations think.

Good word, d3jason. I graduated from UMHB in 1985. I drive 5 1/2 hours each way every weekend during the playoffs. Maybe that is one reason I prefer to stand!  ;D

Guys, no matter whether you sit or stand, just make noise.
By the way, I am so proud all you alums come to the game.  This football is much more than I ever imagined it would become!

Yes we need to make more noise. I attend a few games a year and I have to say it seems like the last few years have been worse in terms of noise as fan involvement.

Time to get Rowdy and have fun. The crowd can help a team!

....and now a word about having to sit next to the band the whole game.

LINFIELD
administration has gone out of their way inside NCAA rules to allow us to wander the sidelines if we choose to. Some of my older friends bring the cupholder chairs, set them right next to the railing and then spend the game asking the press to move out of the way.
What a great country!

NO INJURIES TODAY!

UMHB03

Once again UMHB didn't show up to start the game.

Didn't cover the opening kick, allowing Rowan to start at mid field. Then the defense allows them to march down uncontested for a TD. PAT blocked, Rowan leads 6-0.

Then the offense goes 3 and out.

Now the Rowan offense is moving again.

If UMHB wins this one, they better stop taking the 1st quarter off. We're getting to a level of competition that needs to be taken seriously.

UMHB 28, Rowan 6; 5:13 2Q. We are into monkey-stomp territory now.

UMHB 35, Rowan 6 at the half.

(On the East Region message boards, a 21-point victory margin is called a "monkey-stomp".)

Rowan has 30 plays for 86 yards in the first half.

UMHB03

After a sluggish start, UMHB has started pouring it on with classic smash mouth football. At halftime the Crusaders lead 35-6.
