This should be a no brainer...

1.  Whitewater
2.  Mary Hardin-Baylor
3.  Mt. Union
4.  North Central

5.  Wesley
6.  Linfield
7.  St. John Fisher
8.  Bethel

5-8 is a little more if-y, if you will.  Any other ideas out there?

My fan ballot is identical at the top, but I reversed 5 and 6, and 7 and 8.

UMHB has to be sick right now after watching this beat down.  The game was never close.  The fact that UMHB should have won last week makes it even harder to swallow.  Let one get away.

Kelly Boggs

Thanks, wesleydad. : ) If ifs and buts...

It is what it is.

You know what they say about #2, The CRU will just have to try harder next year. : )

Maybe Linfield should be higher, maybe even 3rd.  UMHB loses to UWW by 1, Linfield loses to UWW by 11.  UWW beats Mount by by 38.

I think it should be:

1. UWW
2. UMHB
3. NCC
4. MU

5-7: I don't have a clue, each one had some great quarterfinal games.
8: Bethel (because they were blown out at home by NCC)

I could live with that.

That's how I have it lined up right now: UWW, UMHB, Linfield, UMU, NCC

I said it to a couple of folks when I was there for the semifinal, and stand by it now, but for the second year in a row UMHB played in the championship game for all intents and purposes.  Last year, UMHB would have beaten St. Thomas and this year, neither NCC or UMU would have beaten UMHB in my opinion. And both years UMHB lost heartbreakers, too.

It's interesting but I think UWW pressured their last two opponents into over-thinking critical moments deep in the UWW zone.  Last week when UMHB called timeout and kicked the field goal and last night when UMU kicked/called timeout/went for it/got penalized/missed the field goal.  Both moments that can be questioned, and both moments that were ultimately in defeat.

Hopefully UMHB keeps that bitter taste in their mouth all offseason and maybe it can be part of what puts them over the hump and back into the Stagg.

Thanks again for the tailgate and hope to see y'all at a game next fall.

As many of us suspected, congrats to UMHB on a #2 finish in the polls.  Nothing to be ashamed of in that at all.

Jaypeter, thanks for being active on the boards during the playoffs.

Please drop in early and often next season.

I haven't check the Poll yet, so here is my ballot.

UWW, UMHB, Linfield, UMU, NCC, Wesley, SJF, Bethel, JHU, UWP for a Top 10, and I think that the drop-off begins after JHU.

Kelly Boggs

Agree, jaypeter, I'm proud of UMHB. With said, I do believe #1 is on the horizon. ;D

Congrats on a great season UMHB.  100% agree on the Cru holding down that number 2 spot.  Hope to meet down the road.

That's a great observation. Wish I had made something like it on our Stagg Bowl broadcast -- well noted!
