It appears the news may be getting worse for LC, who could be losing two of their top receivers.

http://www.thetowntalk.com/story/sports/college/lc/2014/10/07/receiver-kyle-galyon-out-for-season-possibly-same-fate-for-dunbar/16864847/
I think that they have played too many games this season to qualify for the "medical red-shirt"!
They have played 5 games. Is the "cut-off" before the 5th game or the 6th game of the season? If LC loses Galyon, it definitely hurts.

Sadly Gaylon career could be over but Dunbar has only appeared in two games this year, so Coach Dunn seemed to think he would qualify if he didn't play in any more games this year.

The loss of Galyon (pronounced Gal [short a]-yawn) would be significant. He is sure-handed and a great possession receiver. Gally, as my son calls him, is money on third and 6 to 12 yard situations. He also runs good routs and has enough speed to beat you deep. Dunbar is smart and has good hands as well. I think a red-shirt is in the cards for him, if he seeks it. He is also a good possession receiver.

Hadn't been able to get on in awhile. Good to see the boards are alive and kicking. I have been keeping up with the Cru and they look like they are improving. Hopefully the bye week does them some good. It would be nice to see them follow up the Kean beat down with another blow out this week at  Sul Ross. I will for keep my eyes open for the ETBU and TLU games, as they are playing well. Go Cru!
Go CRU!

I expect big things the next 3 games. We played really well two weeks ago, but not our best. These next three weeks, progressively tougher, we should see progressively better UMHB teams. I like this mid season bye week and hope it pays off in the end.

@timtlu : Thanks for the info, as I don't know all the rules +1! DIII rules are crazy. I realize they are MORE academically focused, but they shouldn't change simple things like that.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Yes they should. The majority of Division III schools voted for it, about a decade ago, and it's a credit to the ASC, NWC and WIAC, who used the redshirt most often, that they supported coming in line with the rest of Division III.

This is one of the things that kept Division III from splintering a few years back.

To be eligible for a medical hardship, you must not have played in any part of more than 30% of contests (3/10 football games), or in any part on one contest past the halfway point of the season. (6th game and beyond in a normal 10 game season).  This is all under the condition of course that the reason for that is some type of illness/injury that is incapacitating.

33%, which is four football games.

I'm watching the Sul Ross video. It's pretty good and I'm actually enjoying the Lobo announcer
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Agree that the feed is pretty good. For those watching, is it me or do the ref's seem to be off?

One BIG problem with the Cru offense all season so far, low snaps. Anderson is having to pick the ball up of the turf too often.
