Wow.  Play number differential and time of posession, you would call that a loss.  Defense bent, but held on.  TLU played a heck of a game.   Thought on the first punt by UMHB after game resumed was touched by a TLU blocker, but they said it was downed by a member of CRU kicking team.  Sure looked like it got the heel of the TLU player.  As for as the block below the waist on the Andersen TD called back.  Looked like initial contact started higher and slid down.  A few plays later TLU did it right in front of him and they didn't throw a flag.  Coach Pete blew a fuse.  However, got ought of there with a win.  The last two games didn't help prepare the CRU for the intensity that TLU played with today.

Agreed about the last two games, but we should have played better than that. After each stoppage, I expected the Cru to come out ready but the D definitely looked gassed. Props to the TLU scheme. They definitely found holes in the film and got better. I hope we do the same thing this week.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

I'm excited for the week ahead, but if we play like that against Linfield, it'll be goodnight sweetheart early.

I'm fully expecting UMHB to be razor sharp for Linfield. I'm hoping that isn't the case but I'm sure the Cru will be rocking to welcome the 'Cats.

The craziest stat of this game for me is that UMHB hasn't run 40 plays, and probably won't by the end of this game.
I count 39 plays from scrimmage for UMHB, 4 of which were punts!

Looking forward to Linfiled's first trip to The CRUthedral. UMHB will have to bring its A game to get past the Cats. The CRU defense is going to have a much better showing than this weekend's performance. We'll roll out the purple carpet for Cat fans, but hopefully we won't be quite so hospitable to the team on the field.  ;D

I had to leave to get back to Central Louisiana and thus listened to the game via my smart phone. The radio announcers, and now others, have indicated the officiating lacked a lot to be desired. The announcers said the crew was from the SCAC, TLU's conference, and they are the same team that officiated the first UMHB vs TLU game. Am I the only one to find that odd?
I bet that most of those officials have called a bunch of games having those players at the high school level too.

Congrats to UMHB.  Good luck against Linfield next week and for the rest of the playoffs.  I fully expect UMHB to have a deep run in the playoffs again.  UMHB is a really great program and you all have a great football team.  I know TLU did not show well in Seguin earlier this year.  That was the aberration.  Today was much more representative of the TLU team.  UMHB beat a really good football team today/yesterday in a hard fought game.

Regardless of the feed, it's seems odd to me that an officiating crew from either conference would be used in the playoffs. I would feel the same way if a crew from the ASC officiated this weekend's game.

Probably money here. Not a lot of crews in that part of the country and clearly the NCAA isn't paying to fly officials either.

No other d3 conferences in the area, but how about using a d2 or d1 crew - I think all the rules are the same throughout all divisions of the NCAA (right?)

They are but we have been hesitant to do that because in the past, those crews haven't had a lot of respect for the game.

The CRU escaped with the win.  The lines got beat pretty bad, but I doubt that you will see another running back as good as Barolle the rest of the way.  The offense seemed mediocre, not the usual offense I am used to seeing from the CRU.  Looks like they are hoping too much for the big play.  This weeks game will be a test for both teams as it is a 1/4 final game in the bracket.  The winner of this game will certainly beat either Widener or CNU.

I agree with this. Barrolle is a fantastic running back and he brought his A+ game today/yesterday.  A special player.

That explains a lot. The officiating was pretty shady. The "late hit out of bounds" call that kept a TLU drive alive, and the UMHB interception that was called out of bounds even though he was clearly in, are two that really stand out as being inexcusably bad.

Hats off to TLU for playing a much better this time, but the Crusaders need to show up ready to play next week. Another performance like they had yesterday/today will get them run out of the building by Linfield.

I know Texas is BIG but does it really take two days to celebrate Thanksgiving there?
