In the 2011 McMurry UMHB 2nd round playoff game, Jake Mullin was hobbling. In fact he did not play in the McMurry first round win at Trinity.

He could not scramble.

I remember that game, low 60's, overcast with driving wind and misty-type rain at the Belton HS stadium.

A big shout-out to the Cru D today... 15 sacks in a game sets a new D3 record.  Congrats, fellas!

What 's your views or opinions on the questionable officiating at the UMHB vs. Belhaven? I think the officials made some really bad calls on both sides of the ball.

I don't think it was any worse than most other games.  There were at least 3 missed holding calls on Belhaven, but there was also a horse-collar tackle on them that didn't get flagged.  I think the offensive pass interference on one of our TDs seemed pretty iffy, but I was on the other side of the stadium when it occurred, so it might have been correct.

On a related note, we really need to limit the penalties.  It seemed like the entire 3rd quarter was nothing but yellow flags.  A fair share of them were ours.

I wasn't there as I had grad class, but I can imagine that it was no worse than officiating I've seen in the past. I know these people probably don't get paid a whole lot, and, if I'm not mistaken, and someone on this board may remember, but one of the refs we had in a game a year or so ago was one of the refs from the Seattle Seahawks game against...the Giants I think, when there was the catch/interception in the end zone, and the refs were in disagreement with each other but eventually ruled it a catch for Seattle. Yeah, that guy was our ref. So, I'm not sure how great the calls are going to be, but I know they do the best they can.

And I don't care who you are, none of them are any worse than the chain gang from the TLU game last year in Seguin. Oh my goodness. So slow, and couldn't keep up with the play.

It looked like the two people that were running the chains at the TLU game were both well into their 70's, that could give light as to why they were having a difficult time keeping up!

True, but I don't think they were that old. They did make some adjustments in the second half, though.

Where has Conally Fuller been? Didn't play vs WLac and isn't on the two deep this week. When I saw him on the sideline, he didn't look injured.

Stats page shows that he started the UW-L game, but missed against Belhaven.  Dunno why.  I haven't heard of any discipline issues, so I'm guessing some sort of injury?  http://www.cruathletics.com/custompages/football/2015/indgbg.htm#IGBG.PLY

A mixed bag effort from the Cru today.  Too many penalties and a few AWFUL turnovers (pick 6 and fumble after a first yard gain).  Need to work on those before they face teams like HSU and TLU.  Offense was pretty solid overall.  I think I heard something like close to 700 yards of total offense.  Anderson to Walker was fun to watch all afternoon long.

At Louisiana College next week.

I am so tired of the apathetic crowd. Seriously need a kick in the pants. People are so not into the game. People don't stand up and at least clap during the pump up song. Geez, people, if you want an afternoon in the park to read or relax, do it and listen to the game on the radio, but if you come to a game, be into the game. I wish I could email everyone with tickets something like this.

As for the game, there was no energy. Blake Jackson was not used all game but was on the 2-deep. DT only had like two carries at the half. The offense really just loped along at times. Thankfully, the D was solid and really came to play. We will have to play with more energy against TLU and HSU.

It's been like this as long as I've been going to Cru games.  It got better once we moved into the new stadium, but yeah, there are a lot of people who don't get into it.  I don't really understand why, either.  The section I'm in is season ticket holders (almost exclusively faculty/staff/alumni) and the majority of them seem energetic.  The student section is of course the loudest, but it doesn't help when over half of them decide to leave at halftime.  The second half was sparse to say the least.

Here's the thing.  I'm a non-traditional grad student, and my wife is an alumnae as well as an employee of the university.  We know and talk to a LOT of people around campus.  The majority of them are enthusiastic and genuinely get into the game experience.  However, they actually have to show up to make a difference.  The crowd was the thinnest I've seen it so far this season, even at the start of the game.  Granted, it was hot today, and no cloud cover to speak of.  We were also playing a team that typically gets blown out by the top programs in the region.  Still... come out and support this team.  We have one of the nicest football facilities in all of D-III.  We have a fantastic administration that supports the team.  It sends a bad message when people don't show up or appear apathetic in the stands.

All that being said, I'm constantly amazed by how nice the people are I meet at the games.  That aspect makes me very proud to be associated with UMHB.

I think it has to do with the number of homestands.. 7 for this year, I livestream except games that I really want to see then again I'm up north so we have to choose which games we travel down for. So for HSU I will travel to Abelene...TLU I will be there, We Were at the LA Crosse game and I do sit in the students section with my daughter, the seating is better as well, from that angle I see the game pretty close up (But it is A nightmare being right there when we lost to Whitewater and the dropped pass in the endzone and Linfield..), and I can see the big board clearly and just turn around and hey, there's a concession stand and purle ice cream... perfect...I used to sit upstairs but what I found was that it's bright up there, down below, you have nice comfy shade...once the weather cools a bit more I think you'll see more in attendance.
Plus, and I don't know if this has anything to do with us, but the TU/OU game this weekend, and all of the activities up here, alot of things going on...

Hard to argue with the lackluster crowd but as GillCJ1 said this was against that pretty much everyone knew wasn't going to give the Cru much of a game. As a passionate fan of the team that grew up an Aggie fan, believe me I wish the crowd was more intense but I have come to realize it just isn't going to happen. All you can do is yell as loud as you can/want too and let the rest of the people do what they are going to do.

Only excuse I will throw is that our crowd is always down on the day of the Texas OU game.
