My oldest son and I will be present and accounted for in McMinnville on Saturday! I am looking forward to the trip for a couple of reasons. One, I want to yell myself hoarse rooting for The CRU and, two, I lived in McMinnville from 1999 to until 2006. I look forward to reconnecting with some good friends.

Have a fun and safe trip, Kelly!  I'll be cheering them on from home.

Hey Guys back on campus this Monday after going back home after the game on Saturday. My biggest concern with watching the game on Saturday was the ball handling... What was going on out there in the first half for the cru it almost looked like we were using brand new balls. I wonder who made that decision. Just knowing from experience if you use brand new balls that haven't been played or practiced with they are slick. Not to mention the rain definitely made them even harder to handle. Anybody have any insite into that problem?  Also has there ever been something in the past where the university has helped students and fans try to make it to these playoff games that are so far away?

No insight on the game balls, other than the rain just made it so hard to get a grip on anything.

As far as helping the crowd for playoff games, I am fairly certain that housing opens back up for students that want to come back for the game and then not have to go back home. Other than that, across the board is attendance is always down for the Thanksgiving weekend playoff game, heck even the Tommie-Johnie game went from 17,000 in the reg season to 8,000 this weekend and this was the very first time that game has been a playoff game. Also when you mix in the fact that we were predicted to win the game by 4 TD's and the weather conditions it wasn't exactly a very appealing option to the non-die hards.

plus you have two weeks to finals...getting away for a bit would be a good thing

Pat can tell us for sure, but the NCAA probably controls the game balls used during playoffs.  And it was a lot colder than the guys are used to, not to mention wet.

You were right newcru, they were new balls that were used by mistake by the officiating crew. Information about that and the fact that the Cru will leave for the west coast a day early can be found here http://kdhnews.com/sports/college/umhb/cru-ready-to-go-west-no-umhb-preps-for-quarterfinal/article_0432994a-96e5-50e0-8c15-683cb5e6ea35.html

Good call, newcru.  I can recall several instances now where those slick balls might have impacted the play.  Oh well.

Glad to hear that Blake's injury was nothing serious.

Just listened to UMHB Coach Pete Fredenburg on the radio..... that guy is a class act. Enjoyed the interview very much...... talked about the season... playoffs and upcoming game with Linfield. Very good speaker and was straight down the middle.

Enjoyed it!

The way he said "I think we will be fine" does make me wonder how open he was with that answer though. Either way the Linfield coach isn't showing his cards either http://www.oregonlive.com/collegefootball/index.ssf/2015/12/linfield_mum_on_qb_sam_riddles.html

Coach is a pretty open and honest guy.  He doesn't like to sugarcoat things.  It's obvious he has a lot of respect for the Linfield program.  Looking forward to the game on Saturday.

On paper...some great match-ups this weekend.  Looks like a wet one in the forecast this weekend.  Linfield's offense has struggled some in the rain this year and it looks like UMHB has logged in a few wet ones this season.  I think ball security and turnovers/takeaways are going to be a major factor in the game (as it has been in the past as well).
