Why do the coaches refuse to play man-to-man defense and commit some linebackers to blitz, disrupting the QB, keeping him from having time to throw?

I know that's a hard loss to swallow (we've been there too), but heck of a ball game.  Congrats on a great season MHB.  See you guys in September!
Go Cats!

Congrats to Linfield, they played a hard game. I really feel for The Cru players. There wasn't a reason why when leading by 21 points that we lose the game. The Defense and Special Teams played their hearts out. It was the Offense once again that kept shooting itself in the foot. What was the problem with the center? One would think after muffing two earlier snaps that he would be replaced. The game was within The Cru's grasp, but the mental miscues and just poor playing was the downfall. It really stinks having to lose by a field goal late into the game.

But, on another note. I know that Linfield was the host school, but with all the talk of the playoffs not allowing noise makers or being allowed to have what one would call home field advantage...I did not see one UMHB commercial when the game went to a timeout. What's up with that? There were two schools playing the game it would of been nice to showcase what UMHB has to offer. That would of been a great way of someone deciding where to play ball at a chance to see what is offered without the expense of traveling there to see in person.

I had that same thought the last few weeks....I'll tell you they did not even play the Linfield commercials until the playoffs (local sponsors during the regular season but probably not allowed during the playoffs)....
Go Cats!

Unfortunate loss. 3 bad snaps killed us. D stepped up. Zach played a great game. Should have NOT lost this game. Heart wrenching and sad way to end. Just can't seem to get over the hump. Seems we could have gone under center to eleveate the pressure from the center. Sigh...
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Well Hell that ends that. Congrats to Linfield, again a solid program period. We had our chances, squandered them, they capitalized when you need to, that makes for a great team. I expect them to go beyond St. Thomas.

Thank you CRU seniors. It's been a joy to watch you play. Blessing on your futures.

Are you talking about the video feed or the in-stadium video board?

I guess it would be the video feed. It looked like it was someting that Linfield had prepared, some really great PR stuff. I just wish that UMHB would of had a chance to showcase what UMHB has to offer. Just seemed very one sided showing only Linfield.

Got ya.  I figured that's what you were talking about since the only "commercials" in the stadium were for the NCAA.

Tough loss, but still a good season by the Cru.  One of these days we'll figure out how to get past the 'Cats.  Enjoy the off-season, folks.  Here's to 2016!

One of the best ballgames I've ever seen, and I'd say that regardless of how it turned out. My respect for UMHB, its program and its fans continues to grow. Very happy that there's a chance for similar contests between these schools the next two Septembers.

DFWCrufan

Yeah the seaon is done for UMHB but let's talk about this, one of the most entertaining games I have seen in a long time. Momentum swings, punch and counter puch, great plays and bad, it had them all, the pure joy of seeing great athletes doing what they do was well worth it. Thanks Cru you did do yourselves proud.

The very first series of the game UMHB had an O-lineman go off hurt.  I'm not sure if it was the center or not but I do believe they shuffled some of the guys around after that.  Wondering if that was the issue with the snap.  Although, it's been a problem before this game.  It just seems like they don't play smart at times and it costs them against good teams.

It took scheduling, and eventually, beating Wesley in the regular season before UMHB got over the hump in the playoffs against them.  Hoping the next couple seasons home and home against Linfield will do the same.

(I posted this in the NWC baord so it's a little more slanted to the Cats Fans but just want you CRU guys to know that I have all the respect in the world for you guys and your program.  Your seniors have a lot to be proud of and this team will get theirs in due time with the foundation that these seniors helped build)

Wow, I still can't believe what I saw.  Hats off to CRU and I really do think we got "lucky" in so many ways, but that happens in every football game, more in some than others.  We've been on the bad side of the "luck" factor many times so I'm just so thankful it was on our side today.  However coming back from a 21 point deficit in the first takes a lot more than luck.  That takes a mental fortitude so strong and so glad these Cats had it.  I know I was shaking my head and scared to continue watching after UMHB took that huge lead so early.
UMHB gashed us in so many ways and I think for the most part it was a credit to both their offensive and defensive prowess more than it was to our lack of skill or preparation.  Those guys can play.  What a game.  Next years non-conference game is going to be an exciting one to watch and I hope we continue this rivalry for a long time and unfortunately I think it's only a matter of time before UMHB starts getting some marks in the win column in this matchup.  Such a well coached team with great execution.
Thanks to the CRU for bringing it to the Catdome.  You guys represented and very easily could have been the ones moving on to the next round.  Your seniors did some incredible things over their 4 years and will have a lot to be thankful for and look back on.
Once again hats of to the CRU.  Thank you.
