1. Yes, the punishment should come as a result of the taunting. There is no place for it.

Okay, that's a stance I totally agree with. I too despise taunting, and will never be critical of a coach punishing a player for it.

Where I have a problem (in general, not with this) is that there are some fans/programs who are tacitly okay with taunting in certain situations and punish kids differently based on the outcome. If you're going to bench a kid for taunting someone and drawing a flag in a tough loss, you need to be willing to do that when he does it in a blowout, or a meaningless moment, or even if the ref missed it and didn't throw a flag. I've seen way too many "He's just having fun!" excuses trotted out when a kid runs his mouth in a 30-point win over a doormat and "Throw the book at him" tirades when there's a penalty that costs the team a game. That's all

Another day, another award for Teidrick Smith.  This time it's the AP Little All-America Team.  Congrats!

Final d3football top 25 poll of the season is out.  UMHB comes in at #7, HSU at #12, and future member TLU is #18.  ETBU was receiving votes.

Enjoy the holidays and your off-season, folks.  I'll pop in from time to time.

So how big of a hornets nest are the 'Cats going to be walking into next September?

Early season games are so hard to gauge (especially against big-time opponents).  Assuming everyone follows through on their off-season conditioning, I can see this being another exciting game to watch.  Love this budding rivalry.  I spoke with several of the guys after the loss and they are chomping at the bit to play the 'Cats again.  It was similar to the feeling when they lost to HSU.  No matter what any of the fans thought, you know the players were jacked to face them again in the playoffs.  Of course, this time a chance at revenge will have to wait 9 more months instead of a couple of weeks.

Let us know if any of y'all make it down to Belton for the game.

It will be difficult to gauge since we do not yet know the schedule but it is an early game I would assume. But if it is a game three or four vs. a game one, that could make a bit of difference since once you have a few under your belt the team can settle in a bit verses if it is the opener. I do hope it is a game 3 or 4 so both sides come at this settled in. Looking forward to this one.

I believe it's going to be a game one for Linfield...maybe one or two for the 'Cru.  Don't know their schedule.  We should have a healthy Sam Riddle but a big task to ask 3 new offensive lineman to stand up to that UMHB defensive line.

Really don't understand why people whine all the time about this. Would you like them to start the game down 10 or 20 to give everyone a fair chance? What more could you have asked for? UWW and Mount were on the otherside of the bracket all  UMHB had to do was take care of business when it mattered . . . And they didnt. When it mattered they choked. We could always just turn it into a participation trophy and just give everyone one. Would that be better?

looking at the two deep from the playoff game, there were only 4 seniors on offense and 4 on defense. 3 starters on offense Anderson, Miller, and Wimbey and 2 on the defensive line, Isom and Thedford.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Plus we'll have to hold the breath until gametime and there are no pre season injuries keeping players out of the season. The hard part, or if you look at it this way, the great part, is both programs will have little to zero pregame knowledge of each other so both of them have to just show up and rise up. That makes this matchup just much more the sweeter. really looking forward to being there, under the lights...

Glad to see that Linfield is not our first game as I thought it was, nice build up with TLU being right before it. I expected we would be playing both McMurry and Belhaven this year but it still is kind of bummer since the games don't count for much.

TLU probably had to be early because the SCAC teams, in their final year as a football conference, have to play each other home-and-away in 2016.
