Redlands was one of the schools that was interested in Jordan, just was not the right fit and did not have his major...He just felt real comfortable with the UMHB staff and thought it was a better fit...

Good Luck, I get it. Education first in D3 ball. Enjoy the BBQ...go downtown Belton I can not remember the name of the two places went too. I like the small places of the two closer to the school.

My guess would be Miller's Smokehouse and Schoepf's BBQ.

Thanks for the help, I liked both. I prefer Miller's slightly, just because I am more used to their style. Good Stuff...

So Pep  is planning in mid-July to take a solo cross-country three-week trip from Saxonville to the west coast and back with the itinerary including stops in:
Bicknell, IN
Lawrence, KS
Tulsa, OK
Austin, TX
Roswell, NM (Carlsbad Caverns)
Phoenix, AZ
L.A.
Yosemite National Park
Pendleton, OR
Bozeman, MT
Mount Rushmore, SD
St. Paul/Minneapolis, MN
Lac du Flambeau, WI
and back to Alfred, hopefully within three weeks!!!

The trip will serve as somewhat of a re-enactment (albeit a very different itinerary) of a family cross-country campiing trip Pep took back in 1966 that lasted three weeks and was such a memorable experience that Pep's siblings still talk fondly of our travels. Pep has purchased a number of accessories in order to turn his PT Cruiser into an RV or a one-man mini-house on wheels and is looking to set up camp when he's not staying with friends.

Pep enjoys visiting D3 stadiums...given Pep's tentative itinerary, are there any D3 venues that are "must see"?
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

I'm obviously biased, but Crusader Stadium in Belton, TX (which is only an hour north of Austin) is a must-see.  It's only a few years old and considered one of the nicest venues at the D3 level.

Tulsa to Austin...

You can come south out of Tulsa and veer back to the east to pick up ETBU in Marshall but that might cause you to miss Austin College in Sherman TX

Coming straight south of Tulsa, you can go to Sherman TX (Austin College)
Next football school to the South is UMHB in Belton on I-35.
Southwestern plays at Georgetown ISD  Bernard Birklebach Field,  but has a new fieldhouse on campus.
Austin is 30 miles to the south but you can pick up TLU  in Seguin (pronounced suh GEEN') which plays on campus at Bulldog Stadium and then come back to Trinity in San Antonio.  (Maybe less traffic to go from Austin to Seguin to San Antonio.)
Coming out of San Antonio, I would head to Brownwood where HPU is. The Yellow Jackets play at the Brownwood ISD Gordon Wood Stadium. Gordon Wood was head coach at Brownwood HS and won 9 state championships, an incredible feat considering that post season play was 4 and 5 rounds in his day and only  the district champion advanced.)
The next stop should be Abilene, (McMurry and Hardin-Simmons) on the way to the west.
If you want to make the detour on the way west, consider Alpine for Sul Ross State which runs east-west along the railroad tracks.  While in the  Alpine area, I recommend that you also take in Marfa (where Giant with Rock Hudson, James Dean and Liz Taylor was filmed), Fort Davis (named for Jefferson Davis) and home of the Buffalo Soldiers, the African-American 10th cavalry, McDonald Observatory and Big Bend National Park. While in Alpine, you can also see the SRSU baseball stadium, Kokernot Field, where some future major leaguers, including Norm Cash and Gaylord Perry, played minor league ball after WW2.

In fact, I have met Linfield faithful who have traveled to Hardin-Simmons in football, and to UT-Tyler for baseball.
They are a great group of fans.   :)

With all the talk about satellite camps on ESPN and how different groups love them and hate them its fun to see the stories that include UMHB in them. This is a story about UMHB and how they just completed their MEGA camp which in true Texas style was huge in terms of campers and coaching staffs from around the country.
