TLU played hard and has improved.  Coach Padron and his staff are developing these young players and you can see it.  It's important that the players realize the process and continue to work.  I think they have an excellent chance of winning the conference.

Well, not the dominating performance I had hoped for today. The Cowboys jumped out to a 21 point lead early in the second quarter and I have to pay respect to TLU for not folding where most teams we play absolutely would have. We let them get back in the game and had to play our starters the entire game to get the job done. HSU seemed to be in complete control the entire time and the final result was never in question, we just could not seem to put them away. Gotta respect TLU and how they continue to play hard even when facing a big deficit. The offense is hitting their stride right now but the defense seemed to struggle a bit.
The Cowboys are 3-0 so I can't complain! Hoo-yah!!

Cowboy Up!!! HSU Class of '05

I don't know who the camera operator is, but I tried to Tweet them to ask them to zoom in on the action.  I don't need to see the fans or the players on the sideline. I can see them better than the actual game play.  IMHO, it doesn't take much to get a film crew that can put a little effort into getting better shots of the game.  #D3Probs

I took I-20 on a Maryland to SoCal trip last April just so I could stay the night in Abilene. We cruised the campus and I walked the athletic offices just for fun.  I could not find where the football games are played in my brief tour.
Where? On campus.

S'OK, I could not find the city stadium in Permian either.

And, just 40 miles north of I-20 as it goes thru Dallas, in Allen, you have this stadium.

(Yes, the Allen Eagle high school band is 800 strong. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allen_Eagle_Escadrille)

Most people outside of Texas do not understand how big UIL (University Interscholastic League) Marching Band contest is in Texas.

Looking at McMurry's 2Deep last week, they have mostly freshman and sophomores on their starting lineup. I suppose this stems from their transition back and forth from D2.  Should be interesting to see this week how they do against our potent front fours after racking up over 60 points two weeks ago.  Their game last week was canceled.

Funny you should mention that a good deal of their 2 deep is freshmen and sophomores. One of the freshmen, their starting QB to be exact, was a Crusader for a few days. The Temple paper did their usual Tuesday article and part of it talked about how BJ Ross reported to camp but then left after a few days to go to McMurry instead. Based on his stats he has done pretty good, leading them in passing and rushing after 2 games. Have to think this is going to make for some interesting smack talk between BJ and our defense during the game.

McMurry had trouble scoring against Southwestern. 14 points came on pick-sixes.
They beat Texas College. Lazindex had McMurry at least 30 point favorites. 'Nuff said.
They were losing to Langston when the game was called.

The entire offensive line transferred when the O-line coach did not return.

I still remember many of the scores from the pre-Mumme era. Ouch!

I see McMurry has a nickname (mascot) now ... when did that happen?  Let me down easy if it was five years ago.  lol

2010, I think. (Let me check with a friend of mine.)

War Hawks, two words is unique among college mascots.

Fortunately, we still keep Tipi Village at Homecoming.

My social club (we don't have national fraternities) is the Oglala Sioux. About 30 years ago, an Oglala chief in Dallas was so impressed with our attempts to represent an Oglala tipi that he bequeathed his ceremonial regalia to us, for one of the members to wear on special occasions.

I guess I wasn't paying attention during McMurry's DII years.

As two words (War Hawks), it is unique, but UWW and ULM (University of Louisiana at Monroe) are one word Warhawks, I think.

Yes, ULM was also the Indians.  We were still D-III in 2010, the Hal Mumme years.

On the radio show tonight, Coach Fred talked about Conally being back to full health and that is good. Kris Brown is struggling to keep his knee from swelling when he runs. He also mentioned the JV RB as being a kid that could come in and play well. I went and saw him against HSU in the JV game and he was shifty, fast, and a hard runner.

He also mentioned the QB situation for McMurry. Should be interesting.

They spoke of scheduling Linfield. Coach Fred said he has tried to schedule UWW a time or two for regular season and Leipold wouldn't do it. Course he's on to Buffalo now.

He mentioned working on the false start situation. He said they changed up the Caden e and intonation of the snap count. Hopefully that will help.

I believe I only saw one senior on the 2Deep for McMurry. I'm guessing we win by 30 at least. Just pray for a win with no injuries.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!
