I am going to go out on the limb, HSU clinched their pool bid, so ready or not, they are going... Now I would put good money on their facing UMHB for round one, NCAA won't spread them out, so beyond that for both programs it's up in the air. I don't see a Texas connection to anyone closer, and since HSU is currently 10, I don't see anyone removing their path to a bid with their record.
So we are at the last game of the schedule, UMHB faces LC at home, HSU should have a cakewalk, health is going to be the key here. I would assume that UMHB would have a home game at round one, the reverse of last season, HSU at UMHB.. last season, conference game at HSU and round one at HSU.
I respect the cowboys, but at this point, sorry, I want UMHB to win. Pump it up boys n girls... Playoff time is coming!

On a side note, Southwestern captures the SCAC Championship. Could there be a Reeeeaaaaallllllyyyy outside chance that Southwestern could be up for the pool bid? HSU Sos 31 SW is 101...I don't see it but....

Not with two losses, no.

Very interesting question and observation. A coupe of comments and a question

1 congrats to SW and coach Austin   That program has improved each year
2  is SOS number better to be lower or higher?  I'm not an expert and still new to this process
3. Wouldn't head to head come into play with HSU beating them?

Again, very interesting question an discussion into the playoff seeding and brackets

Playoff talk for HSU is a little premature. HSU still has to beat McMurry next week. My money would be on HSU, but one never knows. Ask Texas A&M! ::)
Not really a bad dog. Just misunderstood!

Hooyah Cowboys

Congrats to Southwestern on a good season in just their 4th year of the program.
But no, there is not even a slight chance that they get considered for the playoffs. With a a loss to HSU, a soon to be unranked etbu team and 3-6 River Falls - their resume is pretty weak as far as playoffs are concerned.

Week 10 Top 25 from D3footbal.com is now out...

It appears that UWW had one too many very close games and they dropped a spot to #3 and UMHB moved up to #2! It would be nice if The Cru can hold onto the #2 ranking or maybe move up to #1 if UMU by chance loses their last game...just maybe the selection committee won't pair up UMHB and HSU in the first round. It would be nice to see another ASC stay in the playoffs beyond the first round.

Would be nice but I think it is more likely that HSU loses to McMurry (which is very unlikely) than the bean counters coming up with the money to not match us up again. Not that different than 2006 and 2008.

Your ranked to 2... keep a sober eye guys...face each game as though it were a playoff now...take nothing for granted. Congratulations....but this could be a dangerous time

The D3FB rankings have exactly zero to do with how the NCAA selects or pairs playoff teams.   Sorry.

Yeah this was a wild A$$ed thought but wouldn't it be fun, Then again, I'd also like to see a Round one MU v. UW-W, but of course that will never happen.

Good running game for the Cru against Belhaven.  Did we ever find out if the final stat was >600 yards rushing?  I know there was some dispute in the figures.

Yes, you are right...but, for us that don't have the time to look deeply into each team and conference it gives us a starting point to build upon. Although it would be nice if the selection was made public and we could see how they come up with some of these pairings.

Final stats say 560 rushing yards.

Yeah, that was the stat that was in dispute.  I didn't know if it had been changed, or not.  No big deal in the end, I was just curious.
