FYI: Weather forecast for kickoff at The CRUthedral on Saturday: Temp 48 degrees, 92% chance of rain, winds from the NNE at 15 mph. This is Texas, so a lot can change between now and Saturday. I guess we will know for sure when we wake up on Saturday morning.  8-)

Easy to see why UMHB is considered the favorite to win out, and why Wheaton did so well last week. Should be a great matchup.

Ok since DOC is spoiling for some jawin..  ;D

I do believe it is Wheatons first time at the Crutheral, from the last few first time arrivals (I remember Rowan and St. John's Fisher) said it was a big experience, loud, the echo chamber effect from the UMHB side bouncing off Bawcom just amplifies the place. Redlands got used to it playing there a few times, Linfield the same. Wheatons first time there, and a playoff to boot, can be an assault to the senses.

It is Wheaton's first visit.  From the photos I've seen, it's a beautiful facility.  I'm sure they are anxious to check it out.  Wish I could be there, but previous commitments and the almighty dollar prevent me from heading down.

#50 looks to be a beast.  He's in almost every game-action picture of the defense I've seen.

I've also heard of the good sportsmanship and the warm welcome the UMHB campus and fans give.  I'm sure the Wheaton faithful will echo that sentiment of the Crusaders previous guests.  I don't expect the team to be very welcoming from whistle to whistle though.  Our guys are looking forward to the challenge I'm sure.

In case you haven't seen it, here is a quick video that aired on CBS on 9/11/16.  Todd Beamer, who passed away on 9/11 on Flight 93, was a Wheaton grad who played baseball.  The football team has adopted his last recorded words "Let's Roll" for the past seasons.

Wheaton has not played in Texas, though for the last 15 + years have had a steady stream of Texans on their roster, 6 this year I believe. Should have a healthy representation.

They have played at Mt Union in the playoffs 6 times and we did face UWW last year so I am not too worried about the sensory overload for this group.

Thanks for sharing.  Really cool to see the football team use that as a rallying call.

Here's this week's "game poster".  I update the lock screen on my iphone for each new one they put out.  :)

Cool poster.  Ironically, Wheaton's fight song begins with the words "Fight On."  Not so unusual I guess, being a college fight song and all. And it's really not ironic at all, unless you're Alanis Morrisette.

By way, good stuff matblake. Great video! Quite a story that Beamer's son is now playing football at Wheaton.

I had never seen this video before today. I stumbled on to it. I looks like it may have been motivation for the players as they approached the Sept. 17 game with Linfield. It seems it would still be good motivation going forward. The CRU has been close so many times. UMHB has stay focused and hungry in order to achieve the ultimate goal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JemBqjtWvg0

Geez....could have offered a credit for using so much of my stuff.....
