CRU can play that good next week and still win by 2. Nothing wrong with that.
UMU gets props.

Holy cow.

Wally - do you think they called that fake?  I think Mullins went with an "automatic" after nobody lined up over that WR.

I think if the Cru play "that good" on Friday, they get squashed.  Thought they looked tight today.  UMHB is certainly capable of better, and they'll need it in the final.  I've also thought that UMHB was the one team in this year's tournament that could be "off" against one of the other top level teams and survive.  That happened here today I think.

Maybe it's something that always an option if the look is right?  Either way, it took serious marbles to run that play instead of just pooch that thing down there and defend 80 yards for 15 seconds or whatever was left.  Can you imagine if that throw short hops (like it almost did)??  So risky.  Hell of a way to win a game though.

Oh yeah.  Very risky - now a cool memory for those kids going to Salem!

First.. Ale all around. and since none of you are here. I will partake of your servings for you, (I;m a giver) If I am not mistaken, Baylor is also a quarterback... or was in HS. Actually I was expecting his patented 5 yard scrambles, he caught Linfield twice with those. ...but I did not think they would punt it away. purely Defensive game, and one thing comes to my mind, the Cru should have had a bit better movement north and south, the D did their job, they got the ball back (Ajay! Way to represent Ls Sierra big man, way to get that Paw up there) I know Mt. was swarming and coming hard, but quick hitters were not even a thought it seems.
In other news, Mt. is a far better team than I thought they were. strong secondaries, very quick but good on the tackles, serious and solid and smart defensibly. BJ the guy reminds me of Barole from TLU, and has a ton of heart...

So off to enjoy the adult beverages...and perhaps a cigar...

No one should be surprised by the defending champs coaching and fundamentals. That made it exciting to the end.
My taking a 2 point win next week is another way of "a win is a win is a win."
What viewers didn't see today from MHB was spectacular special team's play. I look for more next week.

Remember that NFL runner-up Bowl they used to have? Pity there is not one for the OAC Thursday night.

Great game today, CRU.  Can't wait for the matchup in Salem! You've been the #1 team in the country in my eyes ever since the regular season matchup with Linfield.  Excited for you to get a chance to prove it.

UMHBaylor traveling to the Salem, Virginia, game site again?
I'd like to remind you piece of cake. Remember that 2010 chart of where the CRU had traveled since 2004? 51,107 miles.
McMinnville, Salem OR, Ashland OR, 2 times, LaCrosse, Pella, Whitewater, Alliance, Washington PA, Dover 2 times, Newport News, and who can forget Alpine,TX 4 times? Then the conference stuff.

Best game of 2016 was at home against LINFIELD.
You can do better than that.

No injuries.

congrats Cru for the win today.  will have to play better next week to beat oshkosh.  should be a good game.

For what it's worth, that's what they do. Looked very similar to the game against Wheaton. It looks like they're plodding along and going conservative on offense but they put it on their defense to win.

Confirmed this in the postgame, but that's pretty basic special teams, every team should have that built in. MU was sending 10 and the return man noticed it too late. Fredenburg said if it had been a call, he wouldn't have done it at that point in the game but he trusts Mullins and Mullins saw it and executed it.

For the "we needed a blowout" crowd, or the "ahhh not such a good team" crowd, go back in the way back machine and look at UMHB's performances in this level of the competition. 2013 - UW-Whitewater.. 1 point... Linfield, 3 points... Some alum players noted that it's just the way it's thought of. 1 point is a W in the column and that is what you want the W, a monkeystomp would be nice, but..not always at hand.

Last nights game was a defensive masterpiece, and if you think about it, even if your a great offense, if it is a defense masterclass game, your going to have a very very hard time. So I would say both programs earned their birth, both played a serious game, both wanted a W and sadly, only one can have that in the end. Well done to Mt. Union and I know their fan faithful will be saddened, no one wants to get to this level and end things, but UMHB faithful have been there and done that many times. To Our Cru.. rest up, look to Salem and bring everything you have to give for this one game...everything...leave nothing back and play your hearts out.

Was not a big fan of the ESPN crew... gushing over and over about MU's run in the playoffs, like.. that should be the deciding factor, Hey guys, if you didn't notice there is a game out in front of you, and read your sheets. getting names right at your level should be pretty easy. Not one mention of the history of these two facing each other, which would have given the game a bit more flavor. I just wished they had the crew who did the Oshkosh/ JCU game calling ours... hell I'd rather have Pat and the D3 crew do it, if your going to talk intelligently them bring in the intelligent ones. The guys had no clue about the DIII universe (Yeah I get it but still) I think better people could be tapped is all..This should have been required reading...http://d3football.com/playoffs/2016/throwback-semifinal
