We'll be watching up on campus tonight.  A big shout out to the UMHB Alumni Association for their work in setting up the watch party.

Go Cru!!  Bring that trophy to Belton!

Good luck today, Cru.    Hoping you can bring the state its first NCAA D3 football title!

Just a thought....I know Salem knows how to put on the game but why does D3 continue to choose to play their championship football game in a bad weather location?

Pat Coleman

I do think the NCAA remains open to alternatives and sites continue to bid.

there was a contract extended to Salem a few years back, so in another site wants it, I would assume they have to bid for it. I'd Love Love Love to see it in ATT stadium, I mean the HS playoffs are held there...or even the new Ford center Star...

Can't really imagine a worse place for this game.  A megastadium built with intent to host World Cup Finals is not the right size for the D-III championship game.  There are other places you could go with this game, but Jerry's playhouse isn't one of them.

Well consider that most if not all HS playoffs are held there, I could see that on parity with a divisional bowl game. The ford center is the indoor training facility , think if jerrys world at half the size. But I could see other sites as well, i'd just like to see a decent indoor facility removing the weather component ...hey I got it...CALIFORNIA!

I think most places, especially Texas, have a larger appetite for their HS football than they do for Division III football.  By a lot.

Not only that - but ESPN already treats the Stagg Bowl like a consolation game. I can't imagine what they would do with it if the broadcast showed 80,000 empty seats. I like Salem as a site but would understand if it were moved for geographic considerations.

I think California would be a bad location for the D3 finals considering the cost of travel for fans since most D3's are so far away from Cali.  I would say Vegas but weather is a crap shoot that time of the year as well but would offer plenty of reasons for fans to travel, besides just the game.

D O.C.

The UMHB Stadium would work just fine.
If they're in it, one of those 10,000 seat high school stadiums would work.

That's for sure ....

That'll do.

Pay no mind to the board fans who say you were no better - like they did to us in 2004.  :)

Enjoy that off season.
