While eating at The Dead Horse Cafe this morning I wondered again if UMHB selected football awards for 2016.
If it was posted I apologize. Haven't been here since January.

I've not heard anything D O.C.

In other news, there are reports that ETBU is installing turf.

I've not heard anything, either.  I imagine they did in some capacity, but maybe it was more of an internal thing?  I'll ask around.

In other UMHB news it appears that Matt Cody has joined he coaching staff.  He'll be assisting with the linebackers.

It looks like Blake Jackson is getting a look at a pro day, according to this link:

Good luck to him!

Former UMHB players Keith Reineke, Blake Jackson, and Teidrick Smith had their pro day today at Baylor.

I meant to post this last week, but I got sidetracked.  Congrats to David Twilleager (UMHB) for being named the D3 Video Coordinator of the Year for the 3rd consecutive time.  It's a blessing to have a talented guy like him covering our sports (especially football).  Proud to call him a friend.

I've work with David the past few years (we exchange sideline/coaches footage of our Linfield/UMHB games) and he is fantastic to work with.  Happy to see him get this award.

... and UMHB to serve as co-host in 2018 and 2019.  As Pat says in the link below, Salem has set the bar really high.  Let's hope that continues with the new host sites going forward.

Really good to hear the news about the change in venue. Salem did very well indeed, just south of UMHB Shenandoah is and it also won the Womans DIII Golf Championship site as well.

So looking as schedules and the 1 open slot for ASC teams

An interesting early pick in the schedule for Southwestern they have scheduled Denision. Not a bad side to start off with, Denision went 8-2 last season and is no "tune up"  not a bad side at all. To me it shows that Southwestern has some positive designs going forward, you gotta love that! I'm looking forward to the UMHB/ SW game this season, I've liked both sides (of course the Cru always get first dibs) but the Pirates have been a scrappy kind of program, they get knocked down and bounce right back up! They were the SCAC champs last season (and the last for football in SCAC) so Like Hardin Simmons I think they bring a "something to prove" mentality to the ASC and you know what, I would not readily count them down and out, I predict (yeah I know that is a bad word so far into the future) they  will do very well in ASC, I'll even go as far as saying they go high in the standings.

McMurray has Okl. Panhandle State

Howard Payne has SWAG

TLU is playing Hendrix, a good pick as well

Sul Ross has Texas Permian Basin... Dunno enough to comment

Belhaven and Milsaps... playing in each others back yard.. rivalry

It's always kind of sad when a D3 coach resigns to take a high school job.
