What ever happened to Luke Bishop at Hardin Simmons? I watched him play against Temple in the state championship.

From what I understand, he was dismissed from the program for off-the-field issues. Great talent, but couldn't meet the standard.

Hooyah,

You were wondering what happened to HSU's starting QB and why he did not play against HPU. Here is a quote from a report in the Abilene Reporter-News, "The HSU offense didn't miss a beat without suspended quarterback Landry Turner, finishing with 654 yards of total offense." Here is a link to the full story: http://www.reporternews.com/story/sports/college/hardin-simmons/2017/09/23/hardin-simmons-dominates-hpu-road/697148001/

Interesting that they throw in that he was suspended but give no other details, not saying that they should have but it makes your mind wonder about why he was suspended.

Did he spend a weekend in San Antonio at the River Walk?

UMHB Coach's show just aired and Coach Fred spoke to the depth of talent on the team this year.  RB is one area, defense is the other.

He spoke to several injuries that are plaguing the Cru defense. This was seen in Raylon Hickey being out this week. He really needs to be able to go in two weeks.

He again alluded to the idea of having TJ back at WR with Jones behind center. This is intriguing and has me excited. He also talked again about Marquis Duncan.  This kid is lightning in a bottle.  I can't wait to see him get going.

Lastly, he talked about Southwestern.  He spoke about their throwback offense. He was not joking. Lots of running backs in the game. This will be a great test before Hardin Simmons.

Looking forward to a night game in Georgetown. Road trip for me and my boy.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Great report 2001
This may not be directly ASC related but, UW-Oshkosh faces UW-Whitewater this weekend. I think this should be interesting to see how #3 and the competitors for the Stagg fare.

Based on this week's 2-deep, it looks like Turner will be out at QB again Saturday against ETBU. This match-up just got a little dicier :o

Hooyah, I don't think so, Seen ETBU, just very meh, from what I've seen of HSU and ETBU so far I give it to HSU. I could be wrong but personally I think HSU has a more complete game.

I think so too. With Turner, I'd almost guarantee a blowout. Without him, we might have to play our starters in the second half which would have been nice to avoid the week before the big game in Abilene.

Hooyah,

Where did you see the 2-deep at?

I know it's early, but can UMHB win a championship with a QB completing 58% and average 6 yards per attempt?  or is it time for a QB change in Belton?

Jmancru, I can't disclose that information haha

Excellent question.  While I can't answer that, I will say the coaching staff has been experimenting with a QB rotation.  Kyle Jones saw the field for several possessions last Saturday (and looked very good).  T.J. is a playmaker, so don't be surprised if he's still on the field at any given time - even if it's not behind center.

That can almost be answered in two ways, TJ was a bit high and hot on some passing, his straight on passing was laser point on, but, there were some dropped passes as well. Maybe with Kyle behind the center we release a fantastic WR in TJ, to be honest I was very surprised at how well Kyle played in his ration, I asked "is that the same Kyle we saw last season" he looked awfully solid. So do we see this change. perhaps, I think Coach wants to give all options a chance to play out and finalize but they know far better how things operating than we do so I'll rely on the coaching staff to put together a great package.

But let's just say this, if it is a W, I don't care what the score is.

Sounds like an athlete playing QB, not an athletic QB.
