THE size of the Tommies is beyond anything we've seen this year. We will see if the OLine and DLine can step up against the formidable fronts of the Tommies.

Should be a battle.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Our size can wear on people, but our offensive line has been inconsistent this year. We've only had one 100 yard rusher this year, but that's more a RB-by-committee design than a lack of ability. I agree that the trenches will dictate the game. UST has struggled picking up the blitz at times this year, so with UMHB's speed I worry that Perra will be running for his life frequently.

Caruso does a good job neutralizing aggressive defenses with balance. 25% inside runs, 25% outside runs, 25% play-action, you get the idea, but it's always been the speed that gets us. UWO last year was just UST beating themselves, 8 TURNOVERS (and still had a chance to win it), yikes. But the MUC games were about being a step behind athletically. UST recruited a bit smaller and faster on defense to try to change that, so hopefully we're close in that regard.

I've looked at UMHB and UST as maybe two teams that in recent history have been each other's equals, the difference being UMHB has knocked off MUC and UST hasn't. That may just be the year for MUC, or maybe UMHB has officially taken the next step UST is trying to take, and is now among the UWW's and MUC's of the world in perpetuity.

The common opponent in the last three years has been Linfield, but I don't put too much stock in a game from 2015.

Either way, really looking forward to the game tomorrow. Should answer a lot of questions as UMHB is the only big boy we haven't played.

For any out of towners looking for something to do after the game, there's a pretty good Texas high school football playoff game 30 minutes down I35 in Georgetown at 6pm.  Dallas Bishop Lynch and Houston St. Pius, featuring several P5 D1 signees (St. Pius's QB and top WR have signed with Texas A&M and FSU respectively; BL features a current Colorado commit as an all-purpose back).  Should be a pretty high-level game with two teams having very contrasting styles.

I'm sure others can chime in with other UIL playoff games in the Belton vicinity.

Midway is playing Mansfield tonight at Baylor's McLane Stadium just up the road in Waco. If I were choosing, I would head south to Georgetown. Much more pleasant driving experience.

Ditto. Heck of a game. Good luck the rest of the way! Game went pretty much how the gurus expected.

tommiegun

That is a hell of a [special] team.

Great game St. Thomas, heck of a team y'all have.

Safe travels!

By the way watched a clip of your head coach speaking about this game earlier in the week and I can see why y'all talk so highly of him. Bright future for the STU program with that guy leading it.

Cru got a taste and then some of a top tier D. Hopefully we are able to recover and get better for next week.

UST D gave CR3/UMHB O-line fits. Wrecking CRU D came up big. What can you say about Bryce Wilkerson! Wow! I was shocked they kept kicking to him. You give him that many opportunities at returns and he usually pops one.

Heck of a defensive game by the Tommies.

While defense and special teams are the keys for UMHB going forward, The CRU must have more out of the offense next week.
