The attitude I've seen from last week and that article and elsewhere is getting me very excited to see a beat down.

Yea our boys gotta still take them as serious as they would anybody to be ready, but as an alum whose just gonna say what I think straight up, I just don't see how UMHB doesn't win by 20+ especially if they come in with that cockiness.

AJ won't have none of that! Lol

From over at the E8 board:

"Brockport has touched down in TX. Hope they get some good BBQ in them (but stash away a few chicken wings to remind them of where they came from), enjoy the fine weather (it will clear up, no ?), and polish off some pecan pie. Looking forward to the game and seeing all these incredible athletes UMHB has that will supposedly shut down every single Brockport athlete (that means their D will shut down Germinerio, Morrison, the entire OL, all those athletes Brockport has at WR like Hubbard, Brown, etc.) They must be huge and incredibly fast at every position. Their OK offense will of course, instantly run all over Brockport's DL and Lbers and just hit on all their passes both short and deep , all the while having stellar pass protection. Twill be a sight to see such a team) I am preparing my eyes for this juggernaut."
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

"If you told me who Mary Hardin Baylor is, I don't know who they are," said JoJo Ortiz.

Hmmmm, this seems strange.

Reminds me of one of Coach Smith's favorite sayings "You don't know, what you don't know."  I have a feeling Brockport is soon going to know a whole lot more about what UMHB is all about after Saturday. I hope the Cru pants these chumps.

Neutral fans are almost always on the side of the underdog. You would really have to do a lot to turn the neutral against a surprise team like this which is really quite astounding that they have found a way to do that. I mean the overly cocky trash talking last week, the quote in the article, the comment about a "suitable" stadium... they just won't quit shooting themselves in the feet.

Sheesh. You guys are definitely taking what was clearly a joke (suitable) and running way off in the wrong direction. All that spin has to make you dizzy.

You're probably right, Pat. Some of us are wound pretty tight right now. I think the reports - or rumors- of the "trash talk" Brockport dished  out vs DV may have influenced the perception of everything the GE are doing/saying right now. I'll plead guilty and try to keep the spin to a minimum. ;D I will confess that I'm concerned with how the offensive line is going to perform following a poor outing vs UST. Also, IF there is a lot of trash talk and some chippy hits after the whistle, I'm a little concerned about a certain UMHB player keeping his composure, staying in control and... well, I'll just leave at that.

With that said, I'll raise my hand like I did back in the day when the basketball ref called me for a foul. ✋

Great photos of Wildcat Stadium  ... Fond memories of a beatdown, Waco Richfield High School 47, Temple 28. Future Baylor RB and our tailback Marcus Rogers gained 270 yards and score 4 TD's.

Having grown up and attending school in Temple and graduating from Temple High I won't deny we had our fair share of punks... that said I can say the same for Killeen and Waco schools too.

Sorry that happened to y'all.

It was great growing up watching Temple, Killeen schools, and Waco battle. Those schools fell off for years after I left in the late 90's.

Temple is back on the scene as a powerhouse (6A bump next year might have some growing pains), and I think Killeen football is still suffering from all of the new HS built since then.

My two close friends till this day were suite mates at McMurry and one was a Killeen Eagle, the other a Kangaroo. lol

If a team makes it to the last 4 anyone left has a shot. Now one can argue what would have to go right or wrong for each team to come away with a win and it may look very different for each team.

I'm not sure I see a blow out by my Cru, simply because if the defense can control Brockports offense we typically play a grid it out hit you in the mouth kind of game and chew clock in the playoffs. The potential for a blowout is there but if it happens I think it's because of a fumble return for a TD, pick 6, kickoff returns, etc... after the offense puts up 21+ points on their own.

The key to the game in my opinion for Brockport is keeping their QB upright. If they can't it won't matter much if they have very good athletic skill players at WR which I'm sure they do.

Even if Brockport finds some things that are working 2nd half adjustments will be another huge point of the game. Not sure how great Brockports 2nd half adjustments are with their staff and players but I can tell you UMHB has been one of the most consistent teams I've watched in the last 18 years of DIII football at making 2nd half adjustments.

Best of luck to both teams on Saturday!

I expect Brockport to come out very confident, take chances, and play with a chip on their shoulder as they should.

It will be very important for the Cru not to extend plays with penalties or get caught up too much with the jawing. I would also be cautious of fake punts and lots of trick plays.

Of course everyone has a plan until you get punched in the mouth.
