Interesting that this news doesn't seem to have hit the intrawebs yet (other than here); as of 0815 CDT, he's still on the online roster (https://cruathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=4640)
He posted the comment on his twitter and Frank Rossi tagged it as #3 on his top internet meltdowns of the last 10 days.

Welp I don't have him in my twitter feed nor did anyone post a link, and I don't know where Frank Rossi's "top internet meltdowns" is discussed.   Having said that the twitter feed (https://twitter.com/Tjmasterflex) is curious.

In any case the school made it official, a news story was just published (https://www.kcentv.com/article/sports/umhb-all-american-linebacker-tevin-jones-leaving-school/500-586201788), and Tevin is no longer shown on the roster.

Glad that's over. Now we can move on to getting the next great LB in the game. Obviously, I hate that he has left, but I only want guys who want to be here, are willing to take responsibility, want to lead, and who are Crusaders for Life.

Do you have context for any of the shots you just took at him?  Or is it just a if you're not with us, then you're against us kind of thing?  Maybe you have context and know what's going on in Belton and know his circumstances.  I think those comments are regrettable without receipts.

Crusader for life even if it means sacrificing ethical standards? He seemed to say there was something going on that was instigated by coaches, normally that would only raise moderate suspicion and be written off as disgruntled player. But, as the school is under NCAA investigation, I think it carries a little more weight and may not be the kids fault...

Actually to add some light his statement was that he says he was being told to admit to something he didn't do. Here is the post.."Just to air it out, I'm transferring from UMHB. Without getting into too much detail, the coaches want me lie for them and take the fall for something that didn't happen". After that he posts some things like, "I can smell yall's egos from a mile away...don't approach me please lol"

But he does post this to TJ
"be great today.  As you've always been don't let anyone stifle your growth tempations is always lingering around things soon to make its ultimate breakthrough.  Keep pushin, be a champion. Love you brutha wish all is well on your journey"

So If I am reading things as I can see them, it seems this is a beef between staff and player. As both a player and a coach for decades, things like this can happen, hope the best for Tevin and I hope his decisions will work for him and hope things could have been worked out but I don't see this as a major scandal etc etc... I'd just be interested to see where he lands, and I truly hope his education does not end there.

I know we don't know each other personally, so with all due respect, I think you can read all of my comments and be able to infer that I love the students at UMHB for who they are as people and secondly what they bring to the playing field, court, diamond, pitch. So before you fall of the ledge of accusations, I would appreciate you understanding the context.

1. I love the kid and hope the best for him. I've stated that several times here on the boards, have reached out to him through Twitter to offer my support, and have encouraged others who know him more personally to reach out as well. So I care about Tevin.

2. If a student-athlete doesn't want to be at UMHB, I hate that. I wish he and Kyle Jones had stayed. I wish Zane Boles had stayed. Kyle went to TTU to pursue academics and football. I wish him all the best. Zane left for academic reasons without fully realizing his punting potential. I don't know why Tevin is leaving, but for all three, I wish them the best. If they don't want to be at UMHB, then that is their choice. To win another championship, we need people who want to be here and aren't going to be distracted by that nagging desire to leave, so yes, if they don't want to be here, I'm glad they are going on to pursue what they want to pursue and are leaving room for someone else to step up and be the next LB, QB, or punter.

3. They aren't regrettable comments, and those are my receipts.

That's fantastic.  I think your initial post betrays this feeling, at least in the way I read it.  It reads as a "good riddance, he wasn't a real Crusader anyway" kind of statement.  That's all I'm getting at whey I say it might be regrettable.

If you choose to find offence you often will succeed. He said he hates he left, but he only wants guys who want to be there - what's wrong with that? Schools lose talented players all the time and the fan base hates to see them go - but you focus on who is there no who isn't. I read the kids tweets and...well in a nutshell I hope he doesn't transfer to Mount. Just got a bad vibe. Wish him luck, very talented - but I agree with umhb2001...next LB up.

From what has been said so far, it seems that there is no there there.... Coach Fred served out his three month self suspension, and will not be at the first three games, all of which are on the road. But I personally have a feeling, from the interview he gave concerning this I think coach might be eyeing his retirement.
So as far as my attending student hears around the campus there does not seem to be anything more beyond the three game suspension. I cannot see NCAA dragging things out this close to season kickoff.

I reached out to CruAthletics via Twitter a couple weeks ago. They stated that the NCAA had finished their investigation and that waiting for the results is all that is left.

I feel the opposite. I think that this summer layoff has renewed his desire to coach, win, and get better. Unless he is "voluntold", I can't see him leaving UMHB for at least 2 more seasons.
