I said a while back that I'd like to see Mount  and UMHB meet in the Stagg Bowl. 91-7?
Never mind. Maybe We can play (insert name of stinky team here). Damn! Oh what the hell, Go Cru! ☠🏈
Did you watch the game? Felt kind of bad for Albright. As I told my IPC classes yesterday, "an object in motion tends to stay in motion until..." and there was nothing equal or greater coming from Albright today. That's 1300+yds given up by their defense in 2 weeks. not a good way to start.

Drove up to the game...
Albright is an extremely young team, and there was a huge size and speed disparity at almost every position.  What really did Albright in was the speed of UMHB.  They haven't seen anything like that and it showed.

They seemed to be handling it well on the sideline...they'll be ok:)

Well, the game should certainly slow down for them now.

It will....and I don't remember seeing anyone (especially from the MAC) thinking/saying otherwise.
I recall writing that I would be shocked if UMHB didn't lay at least 70 on Albright.    They exceeded my expectations.

Also, just a quick tidbit to share...
As I was picking up my ticket, an older couple was picking up theirs.  They asked where the visitors sideline was.   I asked them if they had come up from Texas.   They said no, "They were staying at the same hotel as the team(UMHB) and that the kids (players) they met were so nice that they decided to come see them play...
Compliments to the team for being great ambassadors for your school...

I'm sure Pete would love to hear about this!

Usually, but Trinity is hanging pretty good, and i dont think they have the fire power the Cru will bring to the table.

HSU offense is moving the ball at will.  The problem is their defense.  Not good.  Way too undisciplined. 4-5 unsportsmanlike penalties.  2 of them lead to touchdowns.

that sims kid can run a little bit.
Miller too. Looks like the Crusaders scored a home run with these transfers. The offense looks as explosive as it's been in a long time.
Told ya'll about that Miller kid! Been screwing me since youth football! One heck of a talent and a great kid!

Whew! Got out of San Antonio with a Win. Some of my takeaway's are we look really really good running the football. I would prefer us to be more balanced, but hey 450 yards rushing is fantastic. Defense played well too, the score doesn't reflect that, but with our penalties (10!) and the majority of those being either unsportsmanlike conduct, personal fouls, or pass interference we didn't do ourselves any favors with field position. I firmly believe if this was our second game as well we win by 4 or 5 TD's. All in all Trinity is a good football team and we are as well. Looking forward to the rest of this year, next big test will be in a couple of weeks against ETBU.

Their play wasn't necessarily the problem, but you are spot on with the careless penalties. Look for Burleson and Wilkerson to have that aspect ironed out next week against LC. First game mistakes and they settled in for the second half of the 3rd and 4th quarter.

UMHB has very little first game mistakes. I've never seen them look this good, this fast. The talent on the offensive side of the ball was eye popping. Defensively, I expected us to give up at least one touchdown by the 1's. That didn't happen. Even with the unexpected loss of Tevin Jones, we were dominant. I think the D can improve, too.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

My take was.. I missed the first half due to storm cutting our power...but from the second half, which was already up 50, speed is crazy, and the list of talent kinda makes you ask, when are they all going to play? De'Nerian Thomas, a QB? Where did that come from, he was great! I think this is something the Cru has been needing since 2016. Last season we had competent players no doubt, but there was a edge missing and I like this group.... very please to see a explosive Offense.
So many new Cru to  learn about, it going to make this season even that much more fun.
