Anyone going to The Beltonian to watch the game Saturday? If so anyone want to eat at Millers or Schoepfs?
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

I am actually making the trip to Alpine, but I have to give the Beltonian some kudos. I watched the Albright game there and it was a great experience. Free entry and then some good food available for purchase, although Millers or Schoepfs is a great option too.

On another subject, did anyone listen to the Coaches Show on KTEM on Tuesday? Seemed like right in the middle there was like 5 random minutes of commercials that Jon and Coach Pete didn't seem to know were happening.

YES!! #D3Probs Made me so mad. I was tweeting at them during the commercial to let them know, and it didn't change anything. I think they ignore my tweets now.

Was perusing through some schedules on D3, and I was wondering: What in the heck is Louisiana College doing playing Alcorn State (an FCS school). And what in the heck is Alcorn State doing scheduling them (after playing Georgia Tech the week prior)?

Does LC have that big of a problem getting games?

Probably a "money game" for LaCollege, just my guess.

Kelly Boggs

It's a pay day for LC. They played Alcorn in 2014 which helped to pay for LC's trip to Wesley that season. They lost that game 52-10.

An equally valid question is what does Alcorn State, an FCS school, hope to accomplish by playing a D3 opponent?  It's either a glorified scrimmage or an embarrassment to the school should the unexpected happen and they lose.

Sure, they probably don't guarantee LC near as much as any other opponent, and maybe that's the key.

Well... considering Davidson hung 91 on Guilford last night racking up almost 1000 yards, it appears some of these FCS schools like to get confidence building easy wins...

So does a FCs school like Davidson beat a top 5 Div III team?

They gave up 61 to Guilford at home, I say no.

No. Last night was a game where the defenses played nit to get anyone hurt. It really was a glorified scrimmage. But Davidson isn't good enough to take down the top 5, buy they'd easily be a top 25 team in D3.
