I think the Pirates will do fine, I am looking forward to the game and believe it will be entertaining.

if "fine" is a 40-point defeat than yes

Southwestern, if they can hold on to the ball, can do some damage on the ground. But its doubtful if they can complete a forward pass. Almost like they have an RB at QB. If UMHBs run defense comes to play -- this game will be over by half.
I agree. Too many turnovers against ETBU and next thing you know we are down 20 in the 1st. LA College done a fairly good job stopping the run enough to where we threw the ball more than I'd seen in 5 games. And you're right, he (QB) is usually the leader in rushing attempts and yards. This is only my 1st year watching their offense though. Could be a long day for the Pirates.
Will you be in Belton? Would you or some friends like a free tshirt in SU colors?  ;D
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

It might be because of skill comparability, but they played well against the cru last year.

Naw, I'll be in Lake Charles watching the McNeese St vs SFA game. Thanks for the offer though.

This weekend I'm really gunning for less points allowed to HSU than the 80 we let em put up last year lol. I think we have the firepower to score our share of points, but we will have to keep HSU under 40 to have a shot.

The only way we are going to be able to do that -- stop with the HB zone runs on 1st down. Starting every set of downs at 2nd and 13 severely limits our options and forces us even more 1 dimensional than we are. Coach gotta mix it up with some motions, WR sweeps, swing/screens, QB runs etc. Do some of that, take care of the ball -- and it will be a good game.

Soooo, a few things.

1. The late score by the Cru didn't bother me. It's not like we were up 84-7 with the first string in.

2. HSU at ETBU: ETBU held the #16 team for half of the game. I'm sure they've learned some things since then and will be just fine. Other than JH, HSU has little fire power that I've seen and I've watched a good portion of all their games. I agree with the previous poster about the score needing to be below 40.

3. Pete's back! Yes. Home game! Yes! Pete's rejuvenated. Watch out.

4. Tomorrows game may be close for a quarter, but I think in the end we go over 50.

Can't wait!
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Has the reason for Coach Pete's three game suspension been explained? I don't remember seeing it, but then again I could of missed it.

I don't know who's in charge of the UMHB video broadcast, but they need to stop switching to that ground level end zone shot before every play. You can't even tell what's going on from that angle.

well looks like HSU might hit that 40 pt mark in the first half ..

this is UGLY. No running game and getting exposed. HSU is literally dropping 8 into coverage every play.

it'll take a shutout in the second half but hey i say if we can keep it below 40 we can still win haha.

Ready to watch the conference championship next week. HSU seemed to have plenty of firepower this game. Expected a close game. Guessing 35-28
