Oh, sorry -- I was given Karley Free's contact info to help set up the interview with Coach Fredenburg for Friday's podcast and I was under the mistaken impression that she led the videography. My bad.

Karley heads CruVision which is the camera crew at the stadium, but Twig is head of UMHB Videography, he basically runs film for all sports from practice to games.

Thanks for the clarification I looked on the site and saw both, but figured Twig might be the head guy in charge... by the way, anyone viewing the game on livesteam, what was your quality like (I mean the images)

Although I am an athletic supporter, I am not responding to QB Jock Itch!
I can see a Mount Union - Mary Hardin-Baylor Stagg Bowl. But geez guys, you're averaging 70.75 points a game. How about something else? Trivial pursuit? Jeopardy? Backgammon is popular.
Oh, what the hell. Go Cru! Good luck on the rest of the season. ☠🏈

Had a question proposed to me this weekend. I would love to hear from some football experts. How many teams have won a State, National, or World Championship (high school, college, or pros) using a 2 QB system? How do fans and players like this system? Does it have potential to split a locker room and fan base? A true 2 QB, not when 1 gets hurt and another comes in.
I couldn't think of one. There have been plenty that's been successfull but not winning it all. Curious to hear some thoughts on this age old question. Have a great week and Go CRU beat hsu.

Chris Leak-Tim Tebow led Florida to a national championship in 2006.

it's rivalry weekend in belton. that average might come down some.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

This week is going to be a lot of fun! I'm anxious to see how this chapter of the rivalry plays out. From my point of view, The Cru's d-line isn't as strong as in years past and that has always been the problem for us trying to do anything offensively. Our O-Line has also looked very very strong this year. On the flip side to that, UMHB finally has a high powered offense, which scares me a little. If you stop the run, Hammack can sling it. If you stop the air assault we all know what Markeith can do. I will be the first to admit that I was nervous about our defense, but after pretty much shutting down the conferences best offense last week, we'll be fine. I think that this years game is going to be a little more scoring than in the past. I see around a 28-24 game, but I can't pick a winner quite yet. Looking forward to seeing everyone in Belton this weekend, UMHB always gives us great hospitality. Safe travels to everyone making the trip.

Let's all hope that average comes down haha! I see it being a scoring game unlike the past few years, but no one touches 30 points.

Been meaning to ask you. Saturday, will you and your wife sit on opposite sides? Just curious. Your kids must be really confused, as you say in your signature. May the better team win! How's that for being non-commital? ❓❓❓ ☠🏈

Maybe I spoke too soon, after looking at the Southwestern box score, is DeNerian Thomas the new starter at QB? Or is Pete playing musical QB's again like he did with Jackson and Anderson a few years ago?

I wish both teams good luck Saturday. Rivalry games are always fun. They're also usually a game in which you toss out the records. I know a little more about UMHB, having played them a few times. However; I do know HSU is always up there and seems to be generally regard as one of the better teams in the country. I'll keep an eye on the scoreboard. (Better be the left eye since I have macular-degeneration in the right eye.)
Go Cowboys and Go Cru! How's that for being fair? ☠🏈

Thank you sir! Looking forward to a good one. I have always respected Mount and what they have been able to accomplish. I'm hoping that this game is a nail biter so that whatever the outcome is we will not have to face each other in the first round of the playoffs. But don't get me wrong, I want ole HSU to come out victorious haha. I watched the Mount JCU game a few weeks ago, that was a terrific one.

We both have degrees from both schools, and while my kids grew up in Abilene on HSU's campus, My 2 oldest have been dubbed Crusaders for life. They are no longer confused. For me and my wife UMHB has always been the priority. We met there; lived in the area for the first 6 years of marriage; both of our families live within an hour of Belton; and on my wife's side, including my girls, there have now been 17 family members attend. If you include my side it's 19.  HSU holds a pretty dear place, and when the Cowboys are playing anyone but UMHB, I'm pulling for them. But there is a reason I use Crucowboy as a screenname; the Cru ALWAYS comes first.

Jase is the starter, but DeNarian is basically the wildcat package and it turns out he can throw well and accurately. If you watched any of Luke's game time from Saturday, you'll see that he's pretty shifty and also accurate. It's not quite as musical QBs as it has been in the past, but all three can play and all three are pretty good. I would have loved to have anyone of the three last year at QB.

This time of year I always get a pit in my stomach. i know from being around both schools how the players generally feel about the other team; so there's this sword of Damacles feeling every year for me.
I think you're probably right about the score, but we've seen some barnburners, and the skill guys on UMHB can score quick, and if that ball gets rolling down hill. Things might get a little nuts in Belton.

HSUAlum255,
Are you in Abilene? If so, the guy walking around in downtown wearing UMHB gear this week is probably me.  ;D
