Ok my attempt at playoffs as of right now.  What y'all think.
East no flights
8 Merchant Marine(b) at 1 Brockport(a)
6 Western New England (a) at 3 Delaware Valley (a)
7 Husson (a) at 2 RPI (a)
5 Western Connecticut (a) at 4 John Hopkins (a)

North no flights
8 Franklin(a) at  1 Mt. Union (a)
5 Washbash(a) at 4 Trine (a)
7 Eureka (a) at 2 North Central (a)
6 Washington +Jefferson(a) at 3 John Carroll (c)

South two flights
8 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps(a) at 1 UMHB (a) (flight)
5 Hardin Simmons (c) at 4 Centre (c) (flight)
7 Rudolph-Macon (a) at 2 Frostburg St(a)
6 Marysville(a) at 3 Berry(a)

West no flights
8 Dubuque(a) at 1  St. Johns(a)
6 St. Norbert (a) at 4 Bethel(c)
7 MacMurry(a) at 2 UW-Whitewater(a)
5 Linfield(c) at 3 Whitworth(a)
Know it will  not last lol

I like the majority of your bracket, but I think St. Thomas takes care of Bethel so they would be ruled out, doesn't really affect the ranking and game matchup though. I also think Maryville and Centre play and HSU would get shipped to Berry. Just my two cents on it. Well done Bracket though.

Maryville and Centre would be a rematch. The committee will try to avoid that if possible.

Yes but so would Maryville and Berry. I think it's cheaper to send HSU to Georgia than it would be to Kentucky. Also, it could all be mute and HSU has to go to UMHB, but again that is a rematch. I'm also banking that Linfield makes the field and goes to Whitworth. No matter what you do in any of these scenarios, there is going to be a rematch. I'm glad I'm not on the committee haha.

Although I think Muhlenberg will be in based upon Wally's projections, I think there is going to be a rematch somewhere. I would be in favor of the least competitive game and that would be Berry at Maryville.

I thought they only cared about rematches if they were conference games, which would mean Berry and Centre would be avoided "if possible" but Maryville could play either.

I think they could do Franklin to Berry and Maryville to Centre, with Muhlenberg going to Mount Union 1st round.

Franklin can bus to Berry and that would be a seed-appropriate matchup.  I would try to avoid Maryville and Centre again, but it might not be doable.  Maryville can bus to Frostburg (499.0 miles!) and that would probably be seed-appropriate as well.  HSU/Centre would be a decent matchup and actually would fit well in a UMHB pod (1 vs. 8 / 4 vs. 5).

I think where troy's projection causes headaches is with the inclusion of Linfield.  I'm not sure Linfield would get selected.  If they do, I think he's right that they'll go to Whitworth, but if they don't, I think the more likely scenario would be a SCIAC vs. UMHB game paired with a Whitworth vs. HSU game.

If HSU and Whitworth face off, where do you have that game taking place? I know this is getting very specific, but I'm curious on your predictions and thoughts. Also, do you have Muhlenburg in over Linfield? Or who are your 5 pool c bids?

I would be very surprised if that game didn't happen in Spokane based on the rankings.

As for my projected field, I posted an analysis last night and you can find it here.  Unlike some of these that I've done at this point in previous seasons, I feel like there are still a lot of impactful h2h games left between ranked teams in many regions, and there will be significant shuffling down the road.  What I projected last night is very unlikely to be an accurate look at the at-larges after the games on Nov. 10.  But it's a fun starting point.   :)

Well, I thought the Louisiana game could be somewhat close but nevermind.

It appears after the top 3/4 teams it's a pretty big drop

umhb2001

UMHB looked sluggish early, erupted in the 2nd, and never looked back. If the #1 D plays all the way, chances are we have another shutout.

I really expected Jase to come out after that second series when nothing was done on offense. I would have expected the same for Poorman last week had it happened to him. There were several throws that were boomed over the receivers, and that can't happen.

Defensively, there were some lapses in judgment where WR's got wide open, especially across the middle, and hopefully, that is fixed as well.

The best thing about today was that we got a lot of underclassmen on the field. That will really help us down the road. Secondly, the play of Marquis Duncan. He didn't play in the Stagg last year, and he is running really well right now.

Hopefully, we can heal up over the next few weeks. I don't think we need our starting Olineman or CB the next 2-3 weeks, so hopefully they can get healed up. Getting pumped for the playoffs.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Sounds like a rough one for the Cru today, but I'm happy to see that they were able to grind out a tough one.  That's what championship clubs do.

;D

The biggest battle is staying healthy right now. As long as that happens, I'm happy.

LC really shot themselves in the foot today with seven turnovers. UMHB took advantage of those and ran away with the game.

D O.C.

LINFIELD does not deserve to be in this season. Could beat Whitworth second time around but would get whacked in the 2nd round. We don't know what the team actually is.
UMHB could play all road games again and they'd be fine.

I think that you are close on your brackets, but please project the 2nd round flights.

HSU has gone on the road twice in a row and lost.

What might be different this year?  Might you move the Whitworth 2nd round game to the UMHB bracket?

UMHB03

Question for those who are more knowledgeable of the subject than I am- How much does the Salisbury loss help HSU and Linfield playoff hopes?
