the unscrupulous NCAA.

Pretty out of line with this at this point.

I disagree. I'm tired of my almamater getting unapologetically screwed by those biased clowns on a consistent basis. Not only by placing us in a first round match up that shouldn't happen until the second or third, but by then placing us in BY FAR the toughest path to Shenandoah. Zero respect for a program that has earned so much over the years, and it gets very old.

Hey, you guys at HSU just destroyed us at McMurry yesterday, but I have to agree you got screwed with the post-season selection.  The NCAA saves money by not having to fly you somewhere (like Linfield), but this is just like another conference game.  Post season should mean playing other teams outside the area, not same-old, same-old.

What evidence do you have that UMHB is getting..."unapologetically screwed"?  I'm asking seriously here- where's the corruption?

UMHB's Darla Kirby has chaired and currently sits on the national committee.  Is she in on it?  How deep does it go?

D O.C.

Ah,yes, shades of now dormant LINFIELD having to fly to Texas back to back after having won their conference.
BTW, you Texas boys are aware labels like 'shyster' became politically incorrect about 25 years ago, right?
Just sayin'

I won't claim anything too serious but doesn't she have to sit out of most (if not all) discussion involving UMHB?

Having the #2 team, which has won it's games by an average of 62-6, play a top 10 team in the first round, while all the other power teams get a relatively easy path to the 3rd round, is the proof. I understand that geography is an issue, so HSU in the second round would have been understandable, but the fact that the NCAA has so little regard for fairness in the face of saving a few almighty dollars necessary to fly Claremont to Belton, is all that needs to be said about their lack of concern for fairness and equal treatment. The fact that we will then have to come off that street fight, assuming we win with the injuries we're battling, to face #20, #5, and #7, is further confirmation that they have no respect for UMHB, and no concern for treating us equitably.

I'm not sure what Darla Kirby's duties are, and how much say she has on the process, but if she signed off on this travesty, then she should be ashamed.

Thats my point Wally. Neither team can say something. A lot is out of conference play. HSU have a hard time getting teams to play like umhb. John Carroll chooses it.

This is fair. I've assumed the committee made it a point to separate HSU sand UMHB over the last two years in order to reward UMHB as a #1 seed. HSU played well enough to deserve to get in, but we were all expecting to play a really good team on the road (UMHB, Whitworth, Berry, etc.), so the argument really has to be made on the UMHB side, that they've done enough to justify facing a bottom 4 team in the field... how much of this do you think is because of the 26-0 margin for UMHB? If that game was 26-14 is HSU going to Whitworth this week?

Nope. This is just about money. The committee chair said as much.

umhb2001

The UMHB guys have seen this before and are, for lack of a better term, numb to it. It is the commonly said is what it is. The only true option we would have is if Trinity would get in. That would force the committee to send someone to Texas to play either UMHB or HSU.

I don't like it, but the committee chair stated that the NCAA basically slapped their wrist for the last two years. That leaves us with what we have.

Is Hemphill playing?

Ok Nobody really surprised with HSU vs MHB. However, tell me why move St John to this region.   Why put Centre in North? Distance lmao. Makes more since to move St. John to north or leave in west. Please please make a logical
Arguement on this. No reason other than messing over island teams of texas and give Mt. Union and UW-WW a easy path to semis and were down umhb and St. John. It is pure favoritism and political point blank.

trickytroy32

I figure Hemphill won't play even if he could for medical redshirt reasons.
