Edward, your right Mt. Union(1seed) is facing a cupcake team(7/8 seed) not John Carroll(3/4 seed)in the first round. UMHB(1seed) is facing HSU(3/4 seed) in the first round. Thanks for proving my point. Anyways, it's playoff time and enough of bracket talk. My game prediction for the game unfortunately is UMHB 27 HSU 14( closest game UMHB has in the playoffs until Stagg Bowl)

I agree.  The Johnnies will be UMHB by far more than 13 points.

I didn't think the recreational use of marijuana was legal in Australia.

This isn't as far fetched as ya'll might think.  Johnnies have a ton of team speed, a D-I QB, and some legendary magic that often leaves opponents confounded when the final whistle blows. While a victory of far more than 13 is optimistic, it's not impossible. And a Johnnie victory wouldn't be shocking. They are good. That potential match-up is the quarterfinal game of the year if it occurs.

.@crufootball head coach Pete Fredenburg informed me that Jr. QB Luke Poorman had surgery for a foot injury he suffered during the ETBU game. There is no timetable for if he will be able to return this season. Jase Hammack will get the start against HSU. @kwtxsports #d3fb

Prayers for a speedy recovery!

I'd bet they haven't played a team with the defensive speed of the Cru, and if they both make it that far it isn't too far fetched to say they could play in some extreme weather that could affect the game...hot or cold... rain or sleet. Outside in Texas is always fun this time of year

I just looked long range and it calls for a perfect football day on the projected meet up day if chalk holds. High of 61 low of 41

I'm really hoping both teams hold up their end of the bargain until this game.

I'm not sure the cold will bother those Johnnies.  Anything which makes the turf slick, gives advantage to the offenses.  So, I'm glad to hear its projected to be 61 and no precip** - could be a helluva contest.

I'm actually pretty excited for this whole tier of the bracket. If challk holds there will be some good football in Belton all the way through it. Belton is a weird place weather wise. We've seen crazy winds, lightening delays, driving rain storms that turn to sleet, rainy, windy, and 36* out (bad mix), no "weather" days with temps in the 80s-90s. There really is just no telling.

I've made my obligatory complaints about the bracketing by the AA, but the time has come to punch somebody in the mouth.

Same.  I think the three potential games that I'm most excited to see in this tournament are in no particular order:
Frostburg vs. Brockport
UMHB vs. St. John's
UMHB vs Mount Union

Also hope that 61 holds through championship night in Shenandoah.

All of the above would be great to watch. Barring a "Blue Norther" 61 in the Houston area isn't too much to hope for. I seriously doubt there will be snow to contend with

I'm with you on this. The games that intrigue me the most are the ones where there is some unknown for a team that we believe to be quality. St John's and Whitewater definitely fit this mold, as it's been at least a couple years since either team has made a deep run but they definitely look capable. And then the east matchups also, although I would be more interested if they were mixed up with some of the other powers as Frostburg vs Brockport doesn't excite me that much and I think either team will not put up a fight in the semis. I hope I am wrong and it ends up being close.

Good luck to the good people at UMHB and HSU this playoff run.

I've ALWAYS appreciated the kindness and warm welcome from folks that run, support, and play in these programs.  You guys do football right down in Texas.

Thinking it's a little early for St. John/ UMHB talk. It will not be shocking if UMHB loses to HSU. The same goes to St. John and Whitworth match up in second round. This bracket is pretty stack with four top ten teams.  At least three of these would win the East and all four would make it to quarterfinals in the East. It wouldn't be surprising if one if not both Brockport and Frostburg not even make the quarterfinals.  I actually think John Hopkins has a great chance of winning the East. UW-WW  and Mt. Union should coast to the semifinals. But think it's Mt. Union vs UMHB at the Stagg. Either way. The south could have upsets in all three rounds that are not shocking ( HSU/UMHB Rd 1, whitworth/St. John Rd two, St. John/UMHB round3) Imagine to UW-WW pleasure if the quarterfinals in the South is HSU vs Whitworth! It could easily happen if St John or UMHB is slightly off in those games. Probably won't happen, but not shocking if it does.
