It did seem from outsider's perspective watching their first UMHB game of the year that Cru were maybe tad conservative on O. I will definitely give credit to the Johnnies' D, that was probably, considering the foe, the best game they played all year. Was reminiscent of some of the defenses we had that held Mount down back in the 2000s.

But how much is the conservatism due to the fact the Cru can have so much confidence in the defense? Are they usually more wide open? Maybe tough to tell since they don't have many tight 4th quarter games so I guess you'd have to compare to previous seasons. But it did seem Cru's O went into bit of a shell and it did nearly cost them as Johnnies picked it up on offense themselves in fourth. Till those damn turnovers, which again, were great plays by that defense. Basically, I can see why coaches might go conservative knowing they have that type of D. But going forward against WW or Mount, yeah, probably going to need more on that side.

This is happening every year.  :-[ I really don't understand it. Surely, they have to see it. I just don't get it.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

one very tough track to slog through this season,  JSU by far was the most difficult in all phases we have faced. Next game...we've not fared well against UW-W....I still remember 17-16 game....Time for some adult beverages

UWW, I'm guessing, will look to run quite a bit next week. I know they can throw, but running is their game. Defensively, I think we will have a bit of an easier time. I don't think their QB and WR's are as dynamic.

Very interesting perspective.  :)

I speaking from the throwing side of things. From the stats, it seems that UWW likes to run more. We do well against the run, and I don't think UWW has quite as prolific passing game as SJU.

Offensively, I think we are in for another tough day if we do what we did today. No creativity, mundane, and lack of QB protection.

Interesting. Bethel said the same thing.  ;)

St. John's played very hard and that QB is a warrior.  Tough, fundamental and hard-working team.  This was either team's game to win and The Cru just made the last play.  UMHB will need to put their very best game on the field on Saturday if they want to advance.  As good as St. John's was, UW-W will be even a greater challenge.  Whoever can remain steady and efficient in a tight game will win.  I have faith that UMHB will be determined, focused and play with a "refuse to lose" demeanor.

My prediction for UW-WW is UMHB 24 UW-WW 7

Yeah, I wouldn't say those are exactly positive traits, lol.  ;)

Great job Cru! Congrats on a great season St.John. Y'all are the real deal.

Just looked at the UWW game, they only attempted 1 pass?

They completed only 1 in 9 attempts. Running the ball was very successful - 2 backs over 100 yards - adapted to the conditions. Did what they had to do, run the ball on offense and stop the run on defense. Worked to perfection.

What about the 7-3 game in Belton on 10.28.06 when the only TD scored came on the opening kickoff return of 94 yards.

I think UWW is 5-0 all-time against the Cru...but you are well aware of that.
