ETBU loses a tough one. 38-30. Whole lotta mistakes cost them dearly but what's new lol

Watched most of the ETBU game. Special teams had tons of penalties, dropped passes from WRs, and overthrows from Bacca early really let them down. They should have won the game. Very unfortunate for ASC football.

Very frustrating to watch. They definitely should have won that game.

SW66

It is still early in the season but it sure would have been a good win for ETBU.

Next week's game between Howard Payne and McMurry will be interesting.  Watched a bit of both games (McMurry on Thur).  Howard Payne looks like they've improved, however I'm not sure how good Austin College is at this point.  Trinity looked pretty good while McMurry looked like a team that has a new staff (which they do) and enduring growing pains.  McMurry's QB looks like an athlete, although he didn't run the ball much.  Will be interesting to see what type of improvement we see in both these teams next Saturday.

Well there is a bright side to this, the ETBU team seemed far more solid than they did this game last season. Fumble at the wrong moment, heartbreaker, but they seemed to be on a roll to at least tie it. Tough break, but I'd take away from it that there is a good side to that game, just have to tighten it up a bit.

Much like the Dallas Cowboys, the HSU Cowboys dismantled their opponent. The Giants/Lobos aren't particularly great teams but the Cowboys did what they should have   Hsu played 4 QBs and probably as many RBs and other positions in the game. As always some things to work on and on to week 2

So it sounds like Ryan Redding (So.) will be making the call this Saturday.

Chaka Watson is dismissed out of the program but Isaiah Terrell, transfer from East Texas A&M, Coach Fred is excited about his development. (No. 21)

Coach clarified, from fall camp only one is disciplined and that was Chaka.

Carrying the ball, sounds like we need to keep our eye on Robert McGrue (Fr.)

Akeem Jackson seems to be working well with Tevin in the LB Corps.- Alot of potential in Tevin Jones in later All American Status

Jonell is out for Saturdays game due to injury (pulled quad)

Question marks and issues, young team but full of talent

Pass rush is back and strong, Backers Corps. is strong and dynamic Jefferson Fritz (Jr.) is back and dynamic, coach quips he can play anything, he will be punting this first game and could very well play QB  if he wanted to he is that talented. (He will not be, he was talking about his skill)

Special Teams are on schedule very proud of the Kicker, Anthony Avila is back and improving, have hit a 50+ FG in a scrimmage. Kicking consultant Randy Smith, kicked at Auburn, is helping develop Avila - But there is a Transfer from San Angelo State who could be competitive

Look for receiver Jaylan Jenkins - (Jr.) Transfer from Fort SCott JUCO - Out of Glen Cove Springs, FL - Has a great sense of Humor - Coach asks him, "Are You fast?" he replies "Coach, I'm from Florida" really made an impact in the Scrimmages

Players suspended and one removed from Roster - Coach Pete on the issue

https://www.kxxv.com/sports/college-sports/umhb-suspends-undisclosed-amount-of-players-before-season-opener

Tons of respect that Coach Pete is willing to suspend/release players when it is the right thing to do. I feel badly for him that he seems to have to do it so often the past few years. As a coach's kid, I know how much that probably hurts him to have to do it.

Cowboys looked great. Gotta remember that it was Sul Ross, but knowing we could have put up as many as we wanted is encouraging. Gotta limit our turnovers, two fumbles from guys that are usually sure handed. Hopefully just shaking off some rust. This weeks test will be interesting. Trinity looks solid especially coming off last years win against Berry. Need to take care of business and make a great impression across the nation. Willing to bet guys like Rossi and some others will predict an upset.

I think this will be a close game. As much of a Jordan Neal fan than I am, I just don't see them winning against HPU. QB play was poor and the defense is still young. HPU has improved enough to win these games, I see them going 4-6 this season. HPU wins by two scores.

Whoa.. Redding beat out Hammack and Poorman? Or is there injuries there still lingering and playing it slow with them? I mean let's be real UMHB is gonna roll Saturday regardless of who is out there on the roster, but that surprised me. Running back also surprised me? Linfield transfer? Or Duncan? Where are they? You said to keep an eye out, does that mean just that he'll get some carries or make the start? Sorry didn't listen in or read, so just asking questions

Jase is injured and coach mentioned that Ryan seems to be taking offense as his. Ryan and Luke both looked great in the scrimmages so I guess it is just Ryan is going that one bit more in ownership. this can change, Luke started coming on last last season until he was injured.

As for there backs, coach seems to keep this close to his chest until things get rolling.
