Looks like UMHB's JV scrimmage will be streamed tonight.  5:55 Start time.  Can't seem to find the article that mentioned the other students' names who were suspended.  Think the website it was posted on took it down.  Who knows if it was true or not.

So it sounds like Ryan Redding (So.) will be making the call this Saturday.

Chaka Watson is dismissed out of the program but Isaiah Terrell, transfer from East Texas A&M, Coach Fred is excited about his development. (No. 21)

Coach clarified, from fall camp only one is disciplined and that was Chaka.

Carrying the ball, sounds like we need to keep our eye on Robert McGrue (Fr.)

Akeem Jackson seems to be working well with Tevin in the LB Corps.- Alot of potential in Tevin Jones in later All American Status

Jonell is out for Saturdays game due to injury (pulled quad)

Question marks and issues, young team but full of talent

Pass rush is back and strong, Backers Corps. is strong and dynamic Jefferson Fritz (Jr.) is back and dynamic, coach quips he can play anything, he will be punting this first game and could very well play QB  if he wanted to he is that talented. (He will not be, he was talking about his skill)

Special Teams are on schedule very proud of the Kicker, Anthony Avila is back and improving, have hit a 50+ FG in a scrimmage. Kicking consultant Randy Smith, kicked at Auburn, is helping develop Avila - But there is a Transfer from San Angelo State who could be competitive

Look for receiver Jaylan Jenkins - (Jr.) Transfer from Fort SCott JUCO - Out of Glen Cove Springs, FL - Has a great sense of Humor - Coach asks him, "Are You fast?" he replies "Coach, I'm from Florida" really made an impact in the Scrimmages

Whoa.. Redding beat out Hammack and Poorman? Or is there injuries there still lingering and playing it slow with them? I mean let's be real UMHB is gonna roll Saturday regardless of who is out there on the roster, but that surprised me. Running back also surprised me? Linfield transfer? Or Duncan? Where are they? You said to keep an eye out, does that mean just that he'll get some carries or make the start? Sorry didn't listen in or read, so just asking questions
I could be mistaken, but i think Duncan is suspended for the first 5. I don't recall the source, but i think he was suspended about the same time as sims

Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

I appreciate the fact that they are streaming the JV games, but it's almost impossible to watch because of the way they use the cameras. Somebody needs to train the operators. There's no reason to stream the games, if the end users (the fans) find it difficult to watch. First, the primary camera is not in focus, and it looks like it is being filmed from the shoulder rather than a tripod, because the operator is trying to follow the ball with the camera instead of zooming out as needed. Secondly, the field shots are worthless unless they're concentrating on a specific player like a receiver in the end zone. Third, why the view from the end zone in the last quarter? You are forced to watch through a mesh, even when the play is happening at the other end zone, a hundred yards away. They have first-rate equipment, but I've seen better productions from schools that have much less with which to work.

Like I stated earlier, I appreciate the opportunity to watch the younger guys play and evolve their skills. I just hope we don't have to endure the entire season before these issues are addressed.

Honestly, I can deal with the poor camera work and such.  It is the completely inadequate bitrate that kills me every time.  I think if they would bump it up to 4mb/s instead of the 1.x that it was last night it would go a long way to improving the stream quality.

He didn't mention the 5 week suspension of Sims in this interview, we knew that already. The spring camp disciplines excepting Sims are over according to coach in the interview, only Chaka was the fall camp discipline and as coach said he is out of the program and school

Don't read too much into this, first game, Jase in still on injury recovery. This could very well be a chance to give Ryan some reps in a game setting.

Thanks Toby, coach only mentioned Jonel and Jase in the previous interview, I was wondering what happend to Nnoli, he's on the roster but another back is scheduled to start. On the suspensions, in his interview he said those were old, I suppose he may have meant we know about those from Spring, he called that old news, only one discipline in Fall camp.

So I am watching the JV game on demand, I'll be honest, it looks better than it has in the past years first game. Beginning of the season we had close up's of referees back pockets, players feet, brick walls and such. They'll get into the groove, at least they got rid of the horrid graphic around the edges and not cutting away to a graphic while subs are being made. Yeah, the images are a bit grainy and that should be looked into.
