So, is "cheetah" referring to Chidubem Nnoli?------------------I don't even see him listed on the UMHB roster anymore.  Anybody heard anything on him?  What about Montana Miller--------------will he get any varsity time?
i'm curious about Miller. #3/3 to play at UMHB and looking at his game film from high school last year, he looks like the most traditional RB of the group. i'd love to see him step in and fill big brothers' shoes.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

I was really wanting to see Montana this year too.  I've seen him on the sidelines but not dressed out for games.  I haven't watched any jv games to see if he is playing there either.

UMHB Coaches Show aired tonight. Couple of take-aways:

1. Jase is back but may not be 💯 %
2. Coach Fred has a "come-to-Jesus meeting today then had the best practice, he said
3. Coach Fred mentioned he was impressed with the improvement of Belhaven and our next opponent, Howard Payne. He said he was excited to see them get better and improve and not seek to kick UMHB OUT OF THE CONFERENCE LIKE "One of those conferences up north". 😂
4. Several injuries on the defensive line led to lots of backups playing Saturday. This could be part of the porous nature we had.
5. He was adamant the team is getting better.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

QB Jock Itch

Both Montana and Chidubem both had major injuries. I believe both were season ending. Not 100% on Chidubem

It's possible Belhaven has improved, but Howard Payne definitely has.

Yes I have seen HPU's games, they have a much more consistent game.

As I noted in a previous post, I believe Bellhaven looked a ton better than I've ever seen them.

With regard to D-line injuries mentioned by Coach Fred, Isaiah Johnson was on the sideline but did not play; had jersey and street clothes on.

Hi ASC and Cru fans... I over here from the OAC and Mount Union.

I must say I was shocked to see the score against Belhaven only being 23-13...I'm not sure I've seen a regular season score the close for them against anyone not named Linfield or HSU.  I did watch portions of both of their games and while the big plays haven't happened yet, they still seem very talented and athletic.  I think a less athletic team that plays the way they did on Sat. loses that game.  Sometimes it takes a kick in the pants to get the fire started, luckily for UMHB the kick wasn't a loss, but rather a close call against an inferior opponent.

I think we've seen a lot of that this year.  Mount has won their games handily but certainly not pretty.  Their defense and most importantly their secondary is still trying to find their style and rhythm.  It seems that St. Johns offense is coming along a little slower than usual after graduating 5 receivers.  UWW lost a ton on D and is also struggling a bit with some lesser competition.

My point is be a little disappointed, but in few weeks I'm sure you'll be saying "Geeze we worried about nothing"

Good luck Cru, I want to see the Stagg Bowl series run to 3 in a row!!!  Actually, I'd like it to run to 4 in a row so the Cru can come to Ohio in 2 years. It'll be like a home and home match-up

Great points! +k

The Cru have lost a lot to graduation, injury most notably, and several to team/school infractions. Hopefully they help this week and start the stretch of tougher opponents I. 2-3 weeks on a high note.

I would be willing to say this at this time, give everyone time! It might not be the star spangled, fireworks and dancing ponies every game but I would imagine teams will tighten up. Funny the Cru's schedule would appear backloaded...almost like maybe someone was thinking ahead? hmmmm :)

Welp, cru looks a little better this weekend. 48 to 0 at half.

UMHB03

Wow, I guess Coach Fred got their attention this week. This looks a lot more like the Crusaders we're used to.

Also, it's remarkable how much of a difference Hammack has made. The guy just seems to have such great leadership and command of the offense.

Great job Cru!!

Defense was hitting hard and very few break downs, lots of pressure from front 4, Jackson and Tevon brought the wood, and the back end played down hill with a bad attitude.

Offense played well, with the O-Line playing there best game this far, Poorman and Hammack threw the ball well, all the RB's hit the right holes for most of the game, Tommy Bowden came in and ran the wildcat nicely. Jonel, Martin may not have caught a ton of passes but the down field blocking was perfect!!
It was good seeing Hammack back out there staying in the pocket with people all around him and not getting happy feet.
Can not forget about Avila he's my player of the year so far. Such a weapon!!

All n all a good win!! Go CRU!!

DFWCrufan

Nicely done! Much smoother play, Luke began very well, it was great seeing Jase back in the QB role, if this is the starting spot and the Cru keep improving then ok, this Cru, I believe, will carry on the legacy! Just very crisp play overall D was on point and vicious and the O stepped up! Tommy is a nice component as well.
