In other news, Reggie Cole CB -made the draft for the XFL....

That is awesome!  Took a quick look through the 3 groups announced so far, only other ASC person I see is former McMurry WR Delfonte Diamond.  Love to see some of the other recent graduates get some XFL love too.  Thought Kris Brown looked pretty good in the spring league this year...

Wow... That was harsh...  Vacating all wins in 2016 and 2017 including the National championship for the loan of a 10+ year old car...

Conspiracy theory, maybe that is why the 2016 banner was replaced by the 2018 one instead of them both being there?

So loaning a car is an NCAA violation? So if a student loans a car to another student who plays, is that also a violation? I cannot equate how loaning someone a car, even if your a coach, provides a benefit over another, perhaps I am missing something.

Yeah, nobody would ever accuse me of being a big UMHB supporter but that is totally ludicrous given the much smaller penalties handed to D1 programs that routinely and as a matter of course do much worse.   Pathetic hack job by the AA.

I believe that since Coach Fredenburg did it, it counted as an "Extra Benefit".

Etchglow - I have to believe this is indeed the reason for only having the 2018 banner at the stadium.

At any rate, we all know who won on the field and that's what will be remembered.  The idea of vacating wins is dumb and ridiculous.

And that added a benefit how? how did UMHB have an advantage on the field?

Guess that means  UWO will get their first Walnut and Bronze trophy. So by self reporting and taking action by the school they end up coming down even harder on UMHB. That is really going to make teams want to turn themselves in for rules violations big or small.

Yeah, the NCAA has become a clown show. UMHB violated the rules, even if unintentionally, and deserved a penalty. However, this is the equivalent of giving someone 5 years in prison for jay walking.

UMHB is, was, and always will be the 2016 National Champions, regardless of what the NCAA "officially" says. We all saw them win it, and nobody can take that away.

I'm surprised the ncaa didn't order the FB team to transfer to DII I mean in this culture of punish and destroy I am surprised they didn't St. Thomas the Cru.

Now I going to need Pat and the Crew to put that mighty asterisk* on the website to show that those games didn't count...jk. I'm always for everyone playing by the rules, but sometimes the punishment has to fit the crime and this does not fit.

Nope, wins were vacated.  UWO would only be crowned champ if games were forfeited.  There will ne no official 2016 champion.
