Is September 5th the first Saturday of the D3 schedule? A little surprised if it is as we typically don't play Week 1.

Doesn't seem like any of the ASC schools have released their schedules but Simpson College did yesterday so I think we now know when UMHB will be playing its first game next year. The Storm will be coming to town on September 5th after a 5-5 season last year.

Only 207 days...but who's counting?
McMurry and Belhaven have released their schedules as well. UMHB will be visiting Jackson on September 19, and hosting the War Hawks on October 3.

We actually did it 2013 - 2016 when the ASC schedule was very lean and we seemed to take on anybody that would say yes. But other than than we played 10 straight starting week 2 from 2002-2012 and in 2000. For all I know Simpson College may have already had their other non-conference game scheduled with UW-Stevens Point scheduled and it was a take it or leave situation but I know Coach Pete has indicated he would to get in rhythm and not stop.

So UMHB has a Tingler and a Tingley coming in? Both with first names of Jackson and both QBs? Are they related?

That really threw me too.  At first I thought someone had duplicated twitter/hudl/maxpreps accounts.  I mean, very similar names, 1" difference in height, 5lbs in weight, and went to schools 12 miles apart?  But, it appears they're different people lol.

I just hope that UMHB doesn't have a DB named "Stingley" coming in.

I find it interesting that other ASC schools and smaller non D3 schools are grabbing hometown players from Temple and UMHB is not signing them.

Yeah, I wondered a bit about that. Of the folks that signed in Central Texas (on kcen's website) 15 oflr so went d3, 14 d1, and a handful d2, naia and juco. Of those that went f4 it didn't appear that there was much overlap in recruiting and several of the kids had verbally committed months ago.

Ok the other hand, it appears the Cru are recruiting in Arkansas right now...

Yea I am really not sure what the Cru are looking for in a running back when Temple had a kid that could really scoot and they didn't seem to go after him. Their track record is a bigger back that gets the tough yards but struggles taking it to the house from any distance. Would be nice to have a back that is a threat on every play to score but what do I know. With that crazy zone blocking we do it would be beneficial to have a back that could hit the holes fast and cut on a dime.

All the kids from Temple I saw signing signed with UT Permian Basin (D2) or Tarleton (d1). Check out Zacarrius Haynes from above, rushed 2018 yards on 216 carries and 29 tds last year for Anderson-Shiro.

SW66

Yea he looks promising as a quicker back. Saw that Fred Fleeks is considering the Cru and he looks like a pretty good all around athlete. I did see that all the Temple players were going to Permian Basin but I believe we still let some really good talent in the Central Texas area get away and we concentrate on the Houston, San Antonio, and those areas a little more. We can't argue with the results we have been having but living in the Temple-Belton area it is always nice to be cheering on some local athletes after watching their high school carreers.
