I think there might be a spirit of hypercompetitivism. I bet the coaches would be willing to let y'all come look at ours if we could come look at yours.

The board has been too quiet. Can we talk about the upcoming fall season and the offensive potential of UMHB with Cormier and Miller in the back field?

I'll jump in.  Of course the biggest problem in predicting the next season in D3 is knowing what players will actually be back.  Still, I think we look pretty solid.  OLine could be a real strength.  Losing Sellers, but everybody else is young and got some real hosses coming in with the new class.  Solid at QB with King, and at RB with Cormier, Miller and Melek.  Receivers really solid.  To me the question on offense is what to do with Bowden--he's just too talented to have on the sideline.  I think that--with the exception of KJ--he's the most electric playmaker we have.  Do you use him in the slot, or maybe as a wildcat QB like we used DeNerian in 2018?
Defense could be elite once again if the youngsters in the middle develop.  Linebackers and safeties look strong but our corners were exposed against ETBU and HSU. 
Well, that's my $0.02.  Anybody else?

I agree with all of this, though I'd like to see the Crusaders bring in a speedster or two at WR. I think the guys we have are solid, but we could use an Aaron Sims type who can take a 5-yard reception and out run the defense for a long score. We need some homerun threats in the passing game.

The defense should always get the benefit of the doubt. They seem to reload after losing great players every year. As you said, it will be very interesting to see who takes advantage of the extra year of eligibility. The more the better.

For now, I'm just looking forward to the release of the fall schedule so I can plan which games I'll be attending.

We have home run threats. KJ is the best hands and athlete on the field. He needs at least 6-10 throws a game.

Brenton Martin is vastly underutilized. Caleb Eagans was healthy for the last two games and runs a 4.2 40. No sight of him.

As great as we are, I sometimes wonder if the coaching sometimes gets in their own way.

I believe the only people that have access to the complete list would be individuals in school compliances offices. Not sure how necessary it is for D3 kids since they are not locked into coming to their school in any way.

Okay just wondered.  My son transferred several years ago and he got an email from a coach asking if he had made a decision yet on a school.  Said he saw his name on the transfer list.  I doubted it was public but just wondered.

Yeah, schedule came out much sooner than expected. As was anticipated, the Simpson College game, scheduled for 2020, stayed on the schedule as the only non-conference game. One change from previous years past is that Austin College joined the ASC from the SAA and will be a football-only member. Louisiana College left for the NAIA, so adding Austin College kept the ASC schedule at nine games.

I like that schedule. All the toughest games (HSU, TLU, ETBU) are in Belton.

Can't really blame the kid.  Started the spring as the #1 running back and finished as the #3.  With Miller and Cormier returning as freshmen in the fall he wasn't likely to get any playing time.  He'll need to go somewhere else if he wants to get on the field.  I wish him the best.

Really wish we knew who was coming back and who's not.   Wonder if a lot of the senior guys for the cru are coming back----Fritz, Sellers,Martin, Gipson, Jackson, Jenkins, Hackett, Smith------------anyone know if these or any other seniors are coming back for the fall?

Sellers isn't coming back. He graduated last fall and already had a job lined up.


I want to say that one or two other seniors aren't coming back (maybe Gary Ruckman and Kadarius Daniel's?) but I don't remember who exactly. I feel like Fritz will be back but that is just pure speculation on my part.
