For any Cru fans out there, the 2021 roster was posted this morning and the local paper also released their annual UMHB preview guide.

I'm impressed by the number of mullets on the roster.  I'm going to look at it in more depth sometime today.

I can identify with that!   Before I finally broke down and risked it (c. 15 months into the pandemic) my hair was the longest it had been since the '70s - I just couldn't take it anymore!

I can identify with that!   Before I finally broke down and risked it (c. 15 months into the pandemic) my hair was the longest it had been since the '70s - I just couldn't take it anymore!

Haha, I risked it and got my yearly hair cut this summer... I went to one of those high schools with strict hair length requirements and haven't worn it short since I graduated...

The ASC is going to be back in the two non-conference games business in 2023 ... Southwestern is leaving for the SAA.

And, honestly, we need a team close to us in another conference to provide a first round playoff game, a game that doesn't put two conference teams against each other.

That is a bummer, I knew it wouldn't happen but I was hoping they could convince Trinity to join the ASC (maybe even for just football) so that all football playing Texas schools could be in the same conference.

I would have been interested to hear the pros and cons for moving, obviously they will have a better chance of success but that surely is going to greatly increase their travel cost.

their press release talked about being a high academics school and wanting to be in a conference with other high academic schools. I'm sad because it means my push for the game to be called the battle for the republic has hit a road block

Let's face. With UMHB in the same conference, Southwestern never had a chance at a Pool A bid. In the SAA, they do.

AT UMHB, the yardstick is the 5th round of the Playoffs; for Southwestern, it is the 1st round.

The self proclaimed #6 returner in the nation hasn't seen any action in the first half against Wisconsin Platteville.

Yeah, that is strange... Almost like they have underexposed the camera. 

The self proclaimed #6 returner in the nation hasn't seen any action in the first half against Wisconsin Platteville.

Hey now, it was from some random twitter account .  I don't know him from joe dirt, but I've honestly never heard Coach Fred talk that way about a player.  Honestly, I feel like he has a really good PR department when (pending him doing anything tonight) he has only caught one pass and returned two kicks in his entire career...

I know. I get it. I wished for all the hype that he would have gotten a chance. He is a good kid with some skill. How much skill?? Remains to be seen as he hasn't actually played. So we'll see. Hopefully he gets a shot.

I do hope he gets a shot to at least play some, just to see the speed he must posses. I watched about half of the ETBU game and they seemed to have very little shuffling when it came to their receivers, but with as well as they played perhaps there will be some games when they shuffle people out a big more.

Raw speed is hard to quantify.  Obviously, he's done a ton of working out and stuff but the latest #'s I've seen (from TFRRS.com) put his career best 60 time .25 seconds behind Aaron Sims's and his best 100 time almost a full second behind (10.57 vs 11.53)  granted, those times were run years apart for each of them and Sims's was run pre-ACL. 

On another note, maybe no game notes anymore now that John left?  Or maybe I'm impatient lol...
