So, for the HSU fan, this weekend I think we have to hope that the following things happen:
John Carroll beats Baldwin Wallace  29-28
Cortland beats Ithaca  28-27 Done
RPI beats Union  19-17 Done
St. John's beats Bethel 29-28 Done
This knocks out BW, knocks out Ithaca and Union, and keeps us from having to worry about the Johnnies. Obviously, some shocking losses from Wheaton and BSC would also help us—but that's much less likely than the 4 results mentioned above.

Everyone of those games was incredible!

AMEN!!!!!

Yes, sir!

Thanks to streaming I was able to watch portions all of them, including the finishes, of all but the Cortland win.  What fun!

UMHB continued to stay focused and not suffer a let down today. All three QBs looked good, several RBs pounded the rock, KJ was dominant at WR and PR, and Brandon Jordan... it will be interesting to see who can guard him.

Defensively we looked really good. Of course it was McMurry, but to keep the focus and shut them down was great.

Looking forward to tomorrow at 4:30.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

It's good to see the Crusaders playing their best football of the year heading into the playoffs.

I'm looking forward to 4:30 tomorrow as well. It will be interesting to see who gets matched up with UMHB in round 1 if HSU gets in and almost certainly gets sent to San Antonio. If the rule is still in place that forbids rematches, I think we'll end up facing Redlands in the 1st round (again). If not, the committee may try to set up a Pacific Time Zone re-match between Redlands & Linfield, in which case our 1st round opponent would be a mystery. I'd kinda like to see a new team that we haven't faced before.

I could see Redlands going to Linfield, HSU to Trinity, and BSC to UMHB. If HSU gets in, they definitely go to Trinity.

The D3fb gang's projected bracket has both HSU and BSC, sends the Cowboys to SA next week, and an unexpected Anna Maria being sent to the Cru (#1 seed) slaughterhouse on Saturday.   BSC ends up in the UW-W bracket with a home game versus Huntington with that winner going to the UW-W slaughterhouse the following week (assuming they get past Rose-Hulman which should happen by midway in the first quarter).

I'll be surprised if the NCAA actually sends Anna Maria to Belton, but the rest of this seems likely.  Then again who expected there to be so much Pool C fallout yesterday?

I agree on Anna Maria being unlikely, though it would be fun to see somebody new from a different area of the country. Seems like the committee would try to find a team that isn't QUITE that far away. Maybe Greenville or Rose-Hulman, or somebody like that. Either way, I'm hoping the Crusaders get to fatten up on a cupcake in the 1st round like all the other power teams do, rather than the usual murderers row that they face straight out of the gate many years.

Yes, the Cru did not hold anything back and it was good to see King back at QB. Redding had done great, but just good to see that King is healthy and back on the field. Defensively, 20 different Crusaders had a solo tackle! The defense has improved from week to week, especially after allowing 28 to HSU, which is a major positive entering the playoffs.

Anyone know where I might find a blank, printable bracket?

Anna Maria is a stretch and a message/suggestion to the committee, perhaps. But if someone has to come in from a far distance, why not from the eastern part of the country, where there are so many extra teams?

Thanks for asking! We put one out every year and I just uploaded it.

Thanks Pat!

I wouldn't mind seeing UMHB play Anna Maria at all. Or any other new, "exotic" opponent that we haven't seen before. I just wasn't sure how much emphasis the committee puts on the distance of trips that fall outside the 600 mile bubble. In other words, both Anna Maria and any of the lower-ranked teams from Illinois are all outside that 600 miles, but Anna Maria would still be a MUCH longer trip. I'm not sure if the NCAA takes things like that into consideration, but that was the basis of my comment.

Once they put a team in a charter plane, the number of miles is still a factor but not a large one.

Huge bummer for HSU. Really feel bad for our guys—especially Kyle Jones who deserved one last shot. But it's got to be more clear now than ever—if you want to get in, you better win your conference. Also playing 2-8 NAIA teams in your non-conference is a recipe for this disaster.

Clear regional bias once again. A deserving HSU team gets excluded altogether, also costing a deserving Trinity team of a home game, and a top 2-3 UMHB evidently doesn't get a top 4 seed.

I feel for Hardin-Simmons, they got the royal shaft. If the tie breaker for top seed for each bracket is the 2019 play-offs, both MHB and Mount Union went out in the same round. But, Mount Union still gets the top seed? The bias still shines through. Now the only thing left to do is to go out and win each week and be the last one standing when the final whistle blows!
