Question for anyone who might know...

From what I've read ESPN+ will broadcast the UMHB vs. Whitewater game. Since ESPN+ is broadcasting the game neither UMHB or Whitewater are allowed to stream the game. Is this the case? As I understand it ESPN+ is a subscription and those UMHB fans that aren't able to fly up for the game will have to pony up to watch the game on ESPN+. I really hope that someone can correct me and that the fans will have a choice of watching the game on ESPN+ or through either school's streaming.

It appears that ESPN holds the rights to Saturday's game, so neither school will be able to stream the game. At least that's what it looks like right now. I will say, I purchased ESPN+ to watch UMHB MBB's 2 games vs D-I opponents last month and you get your money's worth for it. But it is a separate subscription from cable, at least it was in my case. You can buy it only for the month as well, if you are only interested in the D3 games.

I believe ESPN+ is also available through a Hulu subscription.

You can package it with HULU or Disney+ for a couple dollars a month.

Wow - Pat and Greg really tearing the committee a new one on the podcast for ignoring their own rules and awarding Mount Union yet another home playoff game, one they definitely did not earn by the criteria the NCAA itself set up for this exact situation.

I am a Central College fan and I was at last Saturday's game at UWW.  Since it appears that conditions for this Saturday's game will be even colder, wetter, windier and later in the day, I feel compelled to offer some survival advice.  If I had to go to the game, I would bring an empty hot water bottle with me.  Then, when I got inside the stadium, I would go to the men's room on the visitors' side and fill it up.  The water that comes out of the hand washing spigot is scalding. You will probably need a cup or something since I don't know if a hot water bottle will fit in the basin.  Anyway, take your toasty hot water bottle up to your seat in the stands and stick it on your lap under your coat.  It won't save your face, feet, and hands from frost bite, but if you can keep the chill off of your core, it may save you from hypothermia. I don't want to sound like I spent the game in the men's room, but it is good to know that ones at UWW are comfortably heated.

My son and I went to the game on Saturday in Belton and I have several points:

Great game; I thought both teams played extremely well.

I sat on the Linfield side since I bought GA tickets but wanted to be in the middle of the field.  Looking at the Linfield team athletically you would have thought UMHB would win by 100.  Nothing impressive to see but those Linfield kids played hard and were obviously well coached.  Linfield was over-matched at the corner positions by the wideouts and UMHB finally found that.  Not sure which TD pass it was but the corner moved up to press #21; my son saw it and immediately said just throw the ball up to him.  Sure enough UMHB did and it was a no contest.  Not sure how many 50/50 balls UMHB threw but I would guess they were successful on 80% of them.

The story of Kyle King is an awesome story.  Not sure about his HS career but to go from a third string QB at a 2 win HPU to a starter and record holder at a D3 powerhouse is pretty cool.  That was the first game I had really seen him throw and I was very impressed.

Saw several posts about the UMHB defense giving up over 400 passing.  Yes, that is a lot but I thought from the mid third quarter on UMHB was playing a soft coverage; nothing deep defense.  Linfield was able to get 10 yard underneath routes but nothing big and kept the clock moving.

If you thought that was cold you should have been at the 2007 semi against UMHB, anyone there will tell you how cold that was.

Current forecast is showing 37 degrees and partly cloudy at kickoff. Hopefully that holds up.

Precipitation worries more than cold, as Whitewater's offense is tailor made for sloppy conditions, while UMHB's isn't quite as good at smash mouth and is more dependent on the passing game.

Another tidbit, even though it's not associated with NCAA, is that the D3FBs.com #1 and #2 ranked teams are on the road.

I was there and yeah it was COLD! Had to look this up but the high that day was 13 with a low of 2 but thankfully nothing falling from the sky and wasn't that windy, by that measuring stick Saturday looks balmy.

The action on the field that day didn't help the weather as neither team could muster that much offense but alas the Warhawks found a way to beat us again.

The models have changed a lot the last couple of days.  The Euro model goes along with what you say, while the GFS model says no precipitation at all on Friday or Saturday.  Both agree on cold and windy, and windy doesn't help passing games either.

I was at the Stagg Bowl in 2016 and it was 23* and windy at game time.  I was amused to see a few Wisconsin-Oshkosh players warming up before the game, topless.  Oh, the hubris of youth.  I don't know whether they intended to impress or intimidate, but the Crusader players just laughed at them.  And all they got for their trouble was a loss, and presumably, nipple frostbite.  Just line up and play.

I don't feel this way at all. We have three capable backs and two capable QBs. I think we will play well in this environment. Our offensive line is also getting better with each game.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

When I played OLine in college (back in the dark ages) we played a game in a freak blizzard in Texas. The field was covered in snow and sleet and cold mud (no turf back then) and the line markers were invisible. At a time-out our trainers would run out water in Coke bottles in those wooden cases (remember them?).  During one stoppage I grabbed a bottle out of the case and took a big swig, only to discover that one of the trainers had substituted some Southern Comfort for water.  I broke a finger that day, but had the most fun I ever had in a game.  OLine guys love bad conditions.

That's awesome! Great memory. Sorry about the break. What town? I tell people, having been all over and hunted in some brutal conditions, Texas gulf coast in high 30s to low 40s, with the wind and humidity, is one of the most discomforting colds one will ever feel. Cuts through anything you put on.
