Also wanted to add this update on Linfield LB Brock Klosterman from the gofundme...

"Here is an update from Erin Klosterman this morning:

Brock had the best night of sleep yet!! His stats were good through night which is very encouraging considering he's off the steroids and had his bed lowered 20%! He should be getting an MRI in about an hour and once they see the results, they will know where to go from there. Stay tuned!

This text is more about sharing the love we are feeling. We are overwhelmed and just plain humbled with the outpouring of love, support, and generosity of not only our own Linfield and Tigard families, but also the Mary Hardin Baylor family. I know that many of you have felt like you want to do more, but the distance makes it impossible. The go fund me page has lifted so many more burdens than just financial, and I can't thank you guys enough. Word of Brock has spread - We've had the president of UMHB deliver Chick-fil-A and milk shakes last night. We shared prayers and tears together and it was a sweet moment. Their student Director delivered dutch brothers this morning. Their Chaplin came by for a visit and prayer. Their athletic Director is bringing us lunch today. We've also had several parents of football players for UMHB offer their homes, beds, washing machines and whatever else they could possibly do. God's goodness and love has been tangible here. Through you there and the people here we feel held in His hands, comforted and loved. So from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!!!!"

Hope all that is okay with the NCAA.  We'll be careful not to offer the use of a worn-out Subaru.

Tremendous honor for Jefferson Fritz to be named a finalist for the Gagliardi Trophy. Such a great team-first guy for the Crusaders...

For sure. We definitely don't want the NCAA going back and pretending that any more wins/championships didn't happen.

Won't be a popular opinion but based one what I've seen plus the weather conditions, we play a close game but Whitewater pulls it out by 10. Hope I'm wrong but between the conditions and the Coin flip of which UMHB team shows up....

Looks like any snow falling today should be over by game time but it's gonna be in the mid-upper 30s with winds around 20mph all game with higher gusts.  Gonna be tough to get a passing game going today.

Good luck to the Cru and any of the faithful who made the long journey north.

In looking at the hour by hour broadcast, it will be 36 degrees, feel like 22, partly sunny with a pretty strong wind at the start of the game and won't change much. Easy for me to say but those aren't conditions that Texas boys are going to degrade in for the most part. Don't get be wrong it will affect the game potentially with the wind but that will affect both teams.

IMO, there are three keys to "coaching weather".
1. Train your guys to ignore it.
2. Don't lower your standards. No, it's not acceptable to drop a pass because your hands are cold.
3. Think through wind strategy before the game. There is a game within the game that occurs when wind comes primarily in one direction. Thoughtful (and maybe even separate) game planning for each is important for when you are going each direction. Players need to ignore the weather, but that's unwise to do as coaches.

Other than the obvious havoc wind can cause, the weather won't affect the CRU unless they are soft. And if they are soft, they are in serious trouble against Whitewater, anyway.

I don't see the temperatures having a significant impact on the Crusaders, but the wind definitely could. Hopefully the coaches can successfully game plan around this so the passing game can have some success and allow them the opportunity to run the ball.

Oh geez, we're stuck with the crummy NCAA live stats package.   Cru radio broadcast at http://listen.streamon.fm/klrkam for those unable/unwilling to pay ESPN for the video.

Etchglow

I'm kind of amazed the Cru didn't run it a single time on their first possession. As to the espn+ stream, it seems to be a much lower quality than the mount north central game.

D O.C.

I'm listening to the game on Orange CA and it is really fun.
Keep playing this steady game Cru!

Here in Whitewater, UMHB leads UW-Whitewater 17-7 at the half. Here's a first-half rundown...

-Who can stop Brandon Jordan? Virtually nobody. Opposing defenses have struggled against the 6'6 wide receiver all season, and have continued to today. Jordan had seven receptions on eight targets for 91 yards and two scores in the opening half, helping the Crusaders mount the early lead.

-UMHB running back Aphonso Thomas broke the 1,000 yard rushing mark on the final play of the first quarter, gaining three yards on a 3rd and 1 play. Thomas has 35 yards on nine carries so far.

-UW-Whitewater's Tyler Holte, has, as expected, served as a centerpiece of the Warhawks' passing game. On UW-Whitewater's lone scoring drive of the first half, Holte tallied four receptions, including a 9-yard score to cut the deficit to 10 points. He has managed to catch passes in tight spaces, with two, sometimes three defenders around him. Credit has to be given to Warhawk quarterback Max Meylor for that, as the senior is 11-of-14 passing for 101 yards. He did throw one interception in addition to his one passing touchdown in the first half.

-Recording that interception was linebacker Mikkah Hackett, who dove to secure Meylor's pass. It marked Hackett's third interception of the season.

-Anthony Avila extended UMHB's lead, following Jordan's two scores, with 6:01 in the second quarter, connecting on a 44-yard field goal. It was one yard shy of the senior's season-long (45 yds against ETBU).
