The single back set UMHB ran at the goal line four plays in a row at the end was idiotic. I'm a fan, but trying to run from that formation on the goal line against a team with a strong D-line like UWW won't fly. Maybe against weaker teams.

At least it wasn't that two back quarterback run we saw last year every time...

Well, that didn't end the way I wanted it to.  But, should be a good growing experience.  On to Southwestern and better get ready for HSU.

Congrats to Whitewater, they were able to take advantage of The CRU's mistakes and at times the lack of fire in the belly. It was frustrating to watch four attempts to get into the end zone and not look for something other than the front door with no luck. AS mentioned earlier they need to figure out how to fix the errors before the Hardin Simmons game or there won't be any post-season play.

i think a 2 loss UMHB gets in. Especially if the losses are to highly regionally ranked teams. You had to know this was a possibility when the schedule was made. we play 3 top 25 teams in 4 weeks. and the 2 biggest are away games. i do feel sorry for SU next week though
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Congrats on a great game, CRU. It was a tough one to lose, but your guys will be just fine. The offense is scary good and the D will get better. I'm not sure it feels this way on your end, but this was one of the greatest football games I've seen.

Both of our teams have paid the price for the schedule we have put together, but hopefully, we will both finish out and meet again.  In Annapolis and  not before please!

Thinking about it some more... Hopefully the guys use this as motivation like the 2019 game. Thankfully, it happened in game 2 instead of 13!

That's my hope. They can still repeat if the defense improves enough to beat HSU. I expect this team will be rolling by late October, but the season will be over in September if they slip up in Abilene.

I think that a 2-loss team UMHB can get a Pool C, if UWW wins the WIAC.

If you have 2-loss UWW (SJU and WIAC champ) and 2-loss UMHB (UWW and ASC champ) on the table, UWW gets in.
It helps if Muhlenberg wins the Centennial and beats a ranked JHU for the crown.

Both may meet again but not there. They'll make sure they're on the same side of the bracket like they do every year

Harmon could have read ANY report about UWW's d-line performance last week and then went "hmm, maybe I shouldn't run at the goal line 4 times in a row." Or maybe he was too afraid pulling a Seahawks move.

I mean, he did only run 3 times in a row. The 4th was a dropped pass by the tight end.

The Cru didn't completely gel until the 3rd round of the playoffs last year and NC was still the favorite heading to Canton. So they can still get there. My main concern is that in all my years watching Cru football we have always had defensive ends that wreck havoc on QB's and blowing up running plays. Without pressure our young dbacks and backers are getting killed. The Cru are known for defense and flying to the ball aggressively. We are so light on the dline also to stop the run. Not sure we have any answer to improve that side of the ball. Offense will continue to improve with a new system each week. HSU is gonna have their A game so we have 2 weeks to right that ship a bit.

Yesterday, UMHB HC Larry Harmon spoke in-depth about the loss to Whitewater and what it means for the Cru moving forwards. Some great points made by him, and overall, the feeling I've gotten from both talking with him yesterday, and the players, is that there is no morale dip after the loss. But there will certainly be a drive to improve from here on out.

With now even more potentially riding on the UMHB HSU game I must say I am very anxious to see how well HSU does this weekend.

Coming into the season I wasn't sure what to think of UW Platteville, since 2018 they have gone 4-6, 7-3 and then back to 4-6 albeit in the very tough WIAC. Two games in and it appears there offense is not going to be mighty but their defense looks like solid. Clearly HSU's offense had no problems with Wayland Baptist but hoping onto a plane for the first time in a long time with the potential to be looking ahead to the UMHB game, who knows what could happen.
