A shout-out to ETBU...  enjoy!

Speaking of which, I didn't catch the scrimmage but the final score shown was ETBU 7, Centenary 0.   Anyone who has a couple hours to kill can see it at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jt6IxNK32o&t=31s

I watched for about 5 minutes and the score was shown as ETBU 0, Centenary 6... All they did was have Centenary run the same punt play like 5x in a row with no actual blocking or anything going on.  I turned it off after that.

Saw this a few days ago, do we need to report ETBU for illegal spring games?  ;D

I was told that if a score was kept it counts as a game.

Riley Zayas joins Cory Hogue in DCTF's "Republic of Football:  Second Annual Non-FBS Mega Preview" on YouTube.  They talk about all the non-FBS teams and conferences playing in Texas including the ASC and SAA.  Naturally they start with FCS, then D2, before getting to D3 at around the 1:02:30 mark with the ASC.

Looking forward to doing the podcast every week, talking non-FBS football here in Texas! It's going to be a lot of fun. I'm definitely in my element talking D3, lol. We'll have plenty of D3 coverage on the pod, especially with some of those big non-conference games involving Texas teams in the first few weeks of the season.

Excited to be heading to the UMHB scrimmage but also to announce that the first week of ASC pickems is posted! Come one, Come all to what might be the last ASC Pickem's of all time?!?!

If UMHB doesn't get the shotgun snap from center fixed nothing else is gonna matter and it'll be a rough season!

Somebody will need to step up at QB too, based on the scrimmages.

#3 has two pick sixes....maybe he should play offense too!

Didn't go to the first UMHB scrimmage but went to the second.

Takeaways---Offense, non existent.  Other than a couple of running plays 4-5 yards and maybe one or two completed passes, the stunk.  The team they scrimmaged was very good.  UMHB did manage to win the scrimmage if you were keeping track of the scoring--2 pick 6 and 2 field goals but the opposing teams offense moved the ball at will.  Had them in 3rd and long(10 yes or more) several times and gave up first downs.  Got to play much better than that or I see them starting 0-3.

Need a QB---the 2 that played---horrible

They keep running that 2nd kid out there when 17, Isaac Phe, is sitting on the sideline two scrimmages in a row. He looks like he has a great arm, good size. I get needing to get 1QB going, but come on!

Not happy with what Padron is doing. He has not impressed me in his play calling through a season and two scrimmages.

I'm nervous.

I'm sure hoping that post-Fredenburg UMHB doesn't end up like post-Osborne Nebraska

Maybe they'll put it together, but if the offense is as bad as is being described, there is zero excuse for that. Veteran O-Line, deep and talented at RB, and everybody knew King would be gone after 2022, so there's been plenty of time to find a decent QB or two.

I knew it was gong to be painful when I realized that QB1 and QB2 had less than 30 varsity snaps between them and QB1 is a Sr and QB2 a junior. I know King was saying that they had made the offense more complex and pass heavy last year. I didn't make it to the scrimmage but dad was saying he didn't see Cormier or Kenneth Miller play at rb

I think they wanted to give some other kids some opportunity to shine a bit-------the transfer from Sul Ross looked decent but the O-line did not block very well.  It was almost like UMHB was scrimmaging against NC or MU, that's how good that Monterrey team was.  They had 4 QB's that probably could have started for any D3 school easily.  Very talented and they blitzed a lot.  Tingler overthrow quite a bit and a couple of times he threw into triple coverage nowhere near the receiver.  He was sacked quite a few times, running backs stopped in the backfield, poor coverage on defense---at times didn't look like they knew what they were doing out there.  Bright spots----linebackers, safeties and return guys.  Other than that, that's the worst I've seen a UMHB team in a VERY long time.  Play calling was terrible, some dropped passes when they were on target.  Didn't understand why they didn't give the third QB a shot, he couldn't have been any worse than the other 2.  If these are the 2 QB's UMHB plans on working with, they will be one dimentional(no passing game at all)  Horrible.   They rotated a lot of guys on the defensive line, at least 6-7, didn't really see any rotation  on the O'line.  I guess Ruel Tandoh(#76 last year) is gone because I didn't see him out there and didn't see a couple of the other big lineman they had last year either.  Trey Witcher hurt his shoulder, came nack out with his arm in a sling(not good)  Wasn't impressed with the receivers.  Defense gave up way too much yardage and the CB's were playing way off the ball(too many quick passes for 6-7 yards a pop)  Overall, not much encouraging about that scrimmage.

Corners did the same against UANL in the first half. Both teams we played are from much larger schools though. They play in Mexico's top tier of college football and have 90-120k students spread across 20+ campuses each. This may be one of those years like 17 where we had defense but no offense to speak of...
